What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“⭐ Version Early Access — propre, claire, cohérente Steam

The goal of Early Access is to continue developing Sur Le Fil while gathering valuable feedback from players.
The project grows progressively, with new content added regularly — ideally every month, or every two months depending on development workload.

Sur Le Fil is an ambitious educational adventure where players learn through play.
Electricity, physics, programming, mechanics, chemistry, mathematics, history… each discipline is introduced through missions, experiments, and time-travel storytelling.

The game is developed primarily by one person, and Early Access allows the community to help shape its evolution through suggestions, testing, and feedback.
Because learning never truly ends, Sur Le Fil is designed as a long-term project that will keep expanding with new lessons, systems, and experiences.

A regularly updated Web version is also available and playable directly in a browser:

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Sur Le Fil is a long-term project.
Early Access will remain active as long as new educational modules continue to be added — mathematics, electricity, chemistry, mechanics, computer science, history…

The current version focuses on the fundamentals (primary school level), and more advanced levels — middle school, high school and beyond — will be expanded progressively.

There is no fixed end date: the goal is to continuously improve the game, stabilize existing systems, and add new content through regular updates.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final version of Sur Le Fil will offer a much larger and more polished experience than the Early Access edition.

Several core systems are already implemented — the advanced electrical simulator, the 3D geometry simulator, the science history hall, and the exam room with automatically generated papers — but all of them will be expanded and improved over time.

The full version will include:

– Many additional interactive levels in mathematics, electricity, mechanics, chemistry, and computer science
– Enhancements to the existing 3D geometry simulator
– New time-travel missions in the science history hall
– More advanced electronic components, including electromechanical relays and integrated circuits
– A refined user interface and a richer graphical environment
– Improved assessment tools
– The “Kelhann World” missions, still in development, offering more open and narrative gameplay

The final scope will evolve based on player feedback and community interest.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version of Sur Le Fil includes 36 playable levels across several fully functional disciplines:

• Electronics: simple circuits, fundamentals, a full simulator with real components (resistors, bulbs, capacitors, wires, power sources) and real-time current visualization.
• Mathematics: arithmetic, written calculations, analog clocks, interactive exercises and assessments.
• History of Science: a first narrative mission set in 1800 around Volta’s battery.
• Experiment Room: basic physics and chemistry experiments.
• Geometry: a 3D simulator with virtual tools (compass, ruler, protractor).
• Science: elementary notions of reactions, metals, and energy.

The game also includes:

– Interactive lessons led by ProfFil
– Auto-generated exam sheets with printable corrections
– The MathAttack mode for dynamic practice
– A WebGL version playable in any browser, plus a local Windows build

Everything currently available is functional and actively updated.
Upcoming major additions include mechanics, electromechanics, computer science, LMDK (Kelhann’s World), The Great Railway Adventure, and more.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Sur Le Fil is currently completely free.
During Early Access, this will remain true: the game is fully accessible, with no paywalled educational content.

As the project grows, a voluntary support option may be introduced to help fund art, audio, and additional educational content.
This support will always be optional and will not restrict access to the core learning experience.

The final pricing model will be determined based on the project’s evolution and community feedback.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback is essential to the evolution of SLF.
We plan to involve the community throughout development through:

– an integrated feedback and bug-report system,
– a dedicated server for discussions, ideas, and suggestions,
– regular updates shaped by the most relevant community requests.

Every piece of feedback will help refine mechanics, improve levels, and guide the new disciplines added to the game.”

About This Game

About Sur Le Fil (aka SLF)

SLF is an I.L.E. — Integrated Learning Environment (E.A.I. in French) — developed by AngeloStudio, blending science, history, and humor into a unique educational adventure.

In a whimsical 3D campus, you will explore and learn:

  • Electricity / Electronics

  • Mechanics

  • Computer Science (hardware & software)

  • Programming (C, C#, assembly, etc.)
