Why Early Access?

“This game is a class project that has a short-term deadline and must be published in that time, but I'd like to keep developing and expanding on the central idea. I came up with the concept early in the semester and have fleshed out the idea. Now that I have a working early build, I have a foundation to build a whole game on. With more time and community feedback, I can take this concept and make a unique experience that players will enjoy.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“If all goes correctly, with the other projects that I have to work on, the game should leave early access around the end of 2021, but I may need to change the date if other projects or responsibilities crop up.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version should have more rooms and more actual puzzles, as well as a higher level of polish, visual and otherwise. However, the central mechanics should remain the same.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Essentially, the early access version of the game will be a short demo of the main mechanic: gravity changing. Right now, the player can explore a single room and try out the rotation of gravity. As the early access progresses, there will be a few more puzzles so I can expand on ideas and incorporate feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, the price will not change when the game leaves early access. It will remain free.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Given that this will be my first published game, I'll welcome and take into consideration any feedback that people want to give during the development process on how I can make the game better. I welcome reviews and emails to mthorsongames@gmail.com. When I am able to focus mainly on A Night in Vanet Manor, I will regularly put out dev updates to communicate with those interested in playing the game and giving feedback.”

About This Game

You awake in a mysterious mansion with no memory of how you got here. Aside from the obvious questions, something doesn't seem right. You must make your way through this mansion where nothing is as it seems. Prepare yourself for A Night in Vanet Manor, a short VR puzzle game.

Prepare for a variety of puzzles that force you to think outside the box and look at things from a new perspective. Manipulate gravity and traverse the walls and ceilings of Vanet Manor to escape from the magic that trapped you there.
