What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We focus on the initial development in the realism and graphic quality of our simulator.
Once this is done we can explore all the possibilities! Like missions and challenges involving real-life situations.
We are currently testing and adding more missions to the simulator, but we don't want quantity, we want quality. So each mission is thought out and adds a new component to the game.
You will notice that in the first missions, we teach you how to use the ropes, the flare, the autopilot and in other missions these items are complementary to help you finish it.
Today the TG66, which is a fictitious helicopter, has a group of fixed accessories and we plan to allow the customization of which items will be part of the flight, completely changing the experience of each flight. Putting weight and ballast on several different parts of the helicopter.
Other ideas are still cooking on our to-do board. But the idea of publishing now is to follow with the community of simulation pilots what path we should take to prioritize what makes the most sense for the majority.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We hope that in 6 months after the initial release we will be able to implement everything we imagine. So we are talking about leaving early access in the late summer of 2021, in August or September.
However, we are keeping an eye on the reviews and tips that the community will ask us and we may have to implement more elaborate items. For example, multiplayer and collaborative missions. Today the simulator is 100% single player and if the community wants it, we will have to start this huge effort. That it makes no sense to implement before launching and find out if it really would make a big difference in the experience.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

Lasting Compatibility
We aim for compatibility with all the VR headsets that will be launched. Today we are already compatible with everyone that is compatible with SteamVR and Oculus SDK.

Customizations
All items are already attached to the helicopter, such as the rope and the flare. We thought about allowing the customization of the internal colors of the cockpit and also removing these items, which will make the helicopter lighter and more maneuverable.

Today they make sense for missions but not necessarily for free flight. A heavier aircraft consumes more fuel, which reduces flight time. So, to fly farther it would be interesting to allow some configurations.

VR Graphics
We think that the graphics, although beautiful and run very smoothly on the PCs that run VR, optimizations appear in the process and we are sure that we will be able to add more scenario items with the same processing cost.

Many developers are not concerned with optimizing their VR games. Generally, the game is designed for the desktop and then is compatible with VR. We have experience in this type of development and we know that when we make a game for virtual reality it needs to be 100% focused on VR. Interaction with the instruments, comfort while using the controls and improving the experience are part of our day and I think that in the future, we will reach even more the state of the art.

Conclusion
We will never release products that is buggy, boring and weak in the experience for you. We focus on flight quality, physics and VR interactions to your perfection!
However, we know that now that the flight simulator is ready we have many incredible possibilities to explore! We will need time and feedback to make the best VR product possible!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

Physics is Perfect
We have been improving our flight physics for desktop games for a few years now and we now port this technology to virtual reality. The first time the helicopter leaves the ground it gives the real impression of being inside an aircraft.

The Landscape is Beautiful
We focus on miles and miles of snowy mountains, rocks and cliffs. We used the NASA library with a realistic altitude map to make the relief and textures of the scenery.

It is now possible to interact with 100% of the items in the cockpit
The helicopter's turning on sequence faithfully represents the real world. Real-life pilots have tested our simulator and we know we got it right!

Different and challenging missions.
We focused on this initial version on quality, not quantity. The missions are very different from each other and teach you how to use each of the components attached to helicopters.
There are also missions to challenge the pilot's skills, such as saving a hiker on the helicopter's operational flight roof and also landing on oil platforms.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

Yes
For some basic reasons.
The final product may have some costs (such as servers, for example) and also because we want our pilots in the initial phase to have a discount while flying and using the simulator.
We think the current price for our early adopters is fair and we will certainly make a fair price later. We want a long-term simulator and establish ourselves as a VR development company for life.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

Features, features and features
We create a state-of-the-art world. A fully interactive helicopter and the possibilities are now huge!

We think our brainstorms for the future are very productive but we also know that the Steam community is huge culturally and certainly everyone's feedback will be taken into account.

Today we think about features and ideas for missions and maybe even more flying lessons, instructing how to do rescue and demonstration maneuvers. And please! Give us your feedback!”

About This Game

Our passion for flying and the incredible experience of virtual reality are together in this great flight simulator! Learn to fly the TG66, an instruction and rescue helicopter in the mountains! Test your skills in controlling this machine in the most adverse conditions that nature presents us with. Helicopter Simulator VR 2021 brings 6 different fuselage configurations, a super detailed mountain scenery, with power plants, cable cars, power lines, hospitals, airports and much more! You will be impressed!

Learn, hone and master all the instruments and controls of a real helicopter! Follow the tutorials to turn the aircraft on and off, learn to use ropes and flares and apply your knowledge in missions based on real situations!

We created a helicopter based on real life. The sequence of turning on and handling must be strictly followed, with the risk of the helicopter gets stuck. But that's ok! That's why there are flight simulators to train your skills and get better and more proficient.

VR Cockpit and Extreme Realism
• All cockpit instruments work like they do in real life. Pay attention to your RPM and altitude at all times. You will find that flying a helicopter is much cooler and more challenging than you ever imagined.
• Fly too high, close to the operational ceiling or if you fly too close to the mountain walls you will notice changes in the aircraft's behavior. We care a lot about physics and everything a real-life pilot faces when performing mountain rescues.

Test and Hone Your Flight
• Weather – choose the weather conditions of your flight and challenge yourself even more by flying in storms and with little visibility.
• Aerodynamic Control and Ambient Perception - Flying at high altitudes and sweeping over the mountains will separate good pilots from apprentices. Rescues will be needed in the mountains and these skills are imperative!

Physics, the "state-of-the-art"
• All helicopter control surfaces interact and are impacted by physics throughout the flight, bringing unprecedented flight reality! And using your virtual reality headset you will be immersed in a truly incredible experience!
• Weather, wind, altitude, speed and attitude of the helicopter will be felt. During missions, you will have to transport passengers, cargo and even trees using the external rope attached to your skis. Complete control of the helicopter will be very important!

Helicopter Simulator VR 2021*: If you want to have the best virtual reality experience of your life, it's here!
