Why Early Access?

“Skillsworn is made by a small team of three childhood friends who have gamed together for 15+ years. We would love to involve the players as early as possible in the development cycle, and give people a chance to support a small studio as we have done over our many years of playing games on Steam.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“1-2 years depending on community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More adventures, more skills, more weapons, refined combat mechanics, incorporated user feedback, etc.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The initial Early Access release will primarily be focused on demonstrating the main game loop. Although there will not be much content at initial launch, we aim to make it as polished, professional, and fun as possible.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The initial launch will reflect the small amount of content included in the game. The purpose of the initial launch will be to introduce the main game loop to players and to gather feedback about game play.

As time progresses and we release new content, the price will be adjusted to reflect the changes.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be utilizing tools provided by Steam such as the review system and the forums. We are a very small team, so we are extremely interested in community feedback about skills, mechanics, and the overall game play experience.”

Skillsworn is a low-poly, party-based, turn based adventure game. Take on the role of a fresh party leader and embark on a journey through the wilds of Thera. Build and adapt your party members skills in order to defeat terrifying foes. Discover powerful weapons, armor, and artifacts to grow your fame. Form extremely long lasting and intimate bonds with non-player characters. Defeat a variety of dangerous foes and prove that you are not just another bored peasant seeking a thrill.

Embark on adventure through a multitude of different hand-crafted maps. Lead your party across arid deserts, snowy peaks, goblin infested forests, and putrid swamps. Each area provides a unique experience and challenge to the party leader and his/her party.

Diversify and adapt your party members by acquiring new skills. Skills can be acquired by defeating monsters. The most powerful skills, however, can only be acquired by defeating the most powerful enemies.

Collect materials from slain foes and bring them to crafting merchants throughout the world to craft new weapons and armor.

The world is a dangerous place. Throughout your adventures you will encounter a variety of enemies each with their own set of skills and challenges.

A party leader is nothing without party members. Recruit and equip your party members and face ever increasingly dangerous enemies. Whether you throw your party members into the fray with reckless abandon, or utilize protective skills to embolden your party members is up to you. Beware, however, that death is permanent in the barbarous lands of Thera!
