What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game has a good base set of features and mechanics already but much more content will need to be added to get it to a real 1.0 release state. Early access is a great way to support us while we build out this content, implement a multitude of new features, and continuously gather and incorporate feedback at every stage of development to make Blight the best and most intense survival game experience it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“There are too many planned features and content already, but it is tough to know when the game will fully feel like a 1.0 release and be ready to leave Early Access. Given this, and depending on how feedback goes and how the community steers the direction of the game, we imagine it will take at least a year for it to be fully ready after the initial Early Access release date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“A good goal of the full version is to either have a story mode that lasts at least 100 hours of intense, challenging and interesting gameplay, or enough unique content and discoverability for that amount of time in non-story endless mode.

The procedural world generation is decent right now but we definitely want it to eventually generate the most beautiful, realistic and varied worlds seen in a game like this ever.

Lastly, depending on community feedback, local or networked multiplayer co-op functionality would potentially be a goal as well.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now there is about 30-50 hours worth of unique content in the game to experience, including buildings and craftable items. The experience itself is fairly solid. The procedural world generation creates unique and decently balanced worlds every new game, and the game so far gives a good sense of the gameplay, level of depth and realism that is being aimed for.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We think it makes sense to raise the price upon leaving Early Access, assuming it's justified based on all the content, features and effort put in up to that point.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our Discord server and Steam community forums will be the primary areas where players can give feedback, report bugs and suggest new ideas. We want to make sure the game is as fun as possible, so we will be diligently checking in and interacting with the community to make sure feedback is being addressed. A public Trello board will be used to give players a sense of what is being worked on and when, and players will also be able to sign up for our newsletter on our site to get emails about updates at least once a month.”

About This Game

Endure an authentic survival experience unlike any other in The Last Plague: Blight. Carefully tend to your well-being, brave countless threats, and overcome daunting challenges within a disease-ridden procedurally generated open world. Delve into the heart of the Blight and bring it to an end.

An obscure disease known as the Blight has descended upon the land. Barely escaping its devastating effects, you find yourself exhausted, starved, and alone in the wilderness. But when an enigmatic figure emerges from the dark, a glimmer of hope presents itself off in the horizon. Are you willing to risk your life to see the Blight eradicated, or will you allow the disease to consume you?

Withstand a perilous open-world that strives on punishing realism, immersion, and depth. Whether you're cooking, crafting, or gathering materials, every single task eats up precious time. Water needs to be boiled to ensure its safe to drink, and raw materials require the proper treatment before creating the tools necessary for survival. Hunger, hydration, and energy must be consistently kept in check while resting at camp or exploring the wilds. Never let your guard down, as dangers take many forms. Wild beasts and harsh elements persistently threaten your well-being, so do what you must to survive a procedurally generated world that does not want you in it.
