What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This game is the first released game of a solo developer, which is why the feedback is the most important part for me and will be very much appreciated. The game is almost finished, but I still have a lot of new ideas in mind and I want to be sure they will be implemented correctly. This is why I decided to release this game as an early access without all planned features.

Nevertheless, I believe this game has a lot to offer in early access, too. You can play more than 20 different songs in three difficulty levels in three different surroundings. I look forward to your feedback and I will appreciate it very much, if you will help me get the game into the world.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The full release is planned for 2022.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to work on the new features listed below but please be aware that they can change during the development process based on the community's reactions and preferences. I'm open to new ideas, too - you can add your suggestions to VR Pianist's Discord.

FEATURES IN DEVELOPMENT:
  • Multiplayer mode (Play the piano with your friend. / Invite your friends to your concert.)
  • Recording mode
  • New songs, levels and scenes
  • Virtual audience feedback
  • Import your own songs to the game
  • User setup (colours, audio)

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The released version should be a game without major bugs, all currently implemented features are listed in the "About This" section. Throughout Early Access, I hope to bolster the virtual environment and game mechanics. I would like to hear your feedback about performance, the current state of the game and new planned features.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to gradually raise the price during early access with an increasing number of content and feautures.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I highly appreciate any feedback. Please - share your progress in the game, comment on new features, share new ideas and help me to improve the game's content. I would like to know what virtual scenes and songs you wish to be added or edited and hear you playing on a VR piano! I hope you’ll join us on Discord (), communicate through the Steam forum or join me on the game's website.”

Who is this game for

When playing this game, you don’t need to be a piano player in real life. Musical hearing is certainly good but not necessary. Big plus for you are fast hands and a portion of patience. This game is also great for piano players – but you shouldn’t imagine that it will be exactly the same as a real piano. The main goal of the game is to be colourful musical fun.

Sitting/standing game

You can sit or stand during the game, you don’t need to walk at all. You will only need a small space for playing and you don’t need to worry about motion sickness. You don’t need to have a piano at home, you can play on a normal table or simply in the air.

Play with your fingers or controllers

For finger tracking you can use Leap Motion controller device or you can use VR controllers.

Supported headsets

HTC Vive, Vive Pro, Valve Index, Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality
