What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I have a vision for the game as a whole, but there are a lot of details that I feel I shouldn't decide on my own. As a solo developer, I simply lack the creative diversity of a team. Early Access grants interested buyers the opportunity to participate in the design process and helps to ensure that I focus on relevant features and issues.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Probably for a year or two.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to add new maps (for a total of 60-80), new skills (for a total of 30-40), new pieces of clothing (for a total of 100-150), and more customization options (20-30 hair styles & 40-50 facial options).

An important goal is to make each map feel distinct. Each one should require (or at least suggest) an individual approach. To this end, I may introduce new defenses and enemy types for new maps. I'll decide that as needed.

What I don't intend to change is the visual style and the minimalistic story. There might be minor improvements in the future, but probably nothing ground breaking.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All important mechanics are implemented, including everything mentioned in the "About This Game" section. The game is fully playable and there's enough content that you can have a few hours of fun. If you enjoy the roguelike mechanics, you can even play long enough to get really good at it or do a Let's-Play series (see e.g. on my YouTube channel).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to raise the price if it seems justified by an increased play value.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I welcome any feedback and bug reports on any part of the game, like difficulty settings, skills, enemy types, inventory management, defenses, clothing, game modes, etc. I'll try to take as many ideas and criticisms into account as possible, as long as it fits my vision of the game.

The best way to reach me is the Community Hub here on Steam, or via Twitter.”

About This Game

A million years in the future. Evolutionary pressure has turned spiders into a far superior species. Humans are now close to extinction. The last survivors rely on remains of powerful technology they didn't invent and barely understand. You traverse this lonely, hostile world in search for a safe home.

Key features

  • Vicious enemy swarm AI
  • Shoot to shoot faster: each shot temporarily boosts your rate of fire
  • Agility based combat: run, slide, jump, dash, and glide to prevail
  • Roguelike with meta progression: you lose all progress when you die, but you get to keep your gear
  • Fight on 68 maps with individual defense units
  • Pick your loadout from 20 powerful skills
  • Assemble your outfit from 58 customizable pieces of clothing
  • Customize your character with 14 hair styles and 22 facial options
  • Input method: mouse & keyboard (rebindable)

Potential issues

  • Realistically animated spiders: If you're arachnophobic, skip this game.
  • Violence: Spiders die graphically. No visual injuries to human characters.
  • Nudity: You can undress your character. Anatomic accuracy can be adjusted. No sexual content.
  • NO intentional jump scares (but it's an action game—be careful if you're sensitive)
  • Gameplay NOT dependent on color vision (to my knowledge—let me know if I missed something)

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Violence: Spiders die graphically. No visual injuries to human characters.

Nudity: You can undress your character. Anatomic accuracy can be adjusted. No sexual content.
