What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I’ve always loved early access games. The idea of being able to keep up with a developer while they worked was always really exciting for me. The idea that there could be a player out there eagerly awaiting every update is extremely motivating for me. There's also just not as much content as I'd like at the moment, but the game still has enough to offer to justify a release. Getting player feedback on which direction to take the final product is a large reason for early access as well.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It shouldn’t be more than a couple of months. 2022 at the latest. I’ll make sure to keep everyone up to date as the updates roll out.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will hopefully be the ultimate cozy simulator. With different cozy weather systems such as rain and snow. Seasonal crops, a lo-fi music player, more fish types, deeper mines, pets, and many other things are planned. There will also be technical ways to play if you really get into the game, such as stocks, world records, real estate, and cutthroat item trading between shops. Currently the early access version is only basic fishing, mining, and farming in an eternally rainy town.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently the game contains fishing, breeding caught fish in a tank, chopping wood, keeping your user interface lit by feeding your fire, competing shops to buy and sell items, and a window to watch the rain. There are some lulls in play where you're just waiting for shops and things to refresh. Once I fully complete the farming and mining activities you'll have plenty to keep you busy.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I feel that the price reflects the content offered. I may increase it in the future if the game changes massively but there are no plans at the moment.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'll be posting YouTube devlogs so players can keep up and offer suggestions in the video comments. I’m about to start daily TikTok vlogs and a Reddit forum for all my games. I check my Twitter and email every day as well if you need to reach out to me there for any reason, and as soon as I learn how to use Discord I may start up a page for Cozy Cabin.”

About This Game

From the developer of Simple Farm comes a brand new relaxing survival game where you survive in a cabin set in a old school operating system.

I was watching a Kingsway stream one day, an RPG set in an old-school style operating system, when someone in the comments said that the UI was cozy. The comment immediately inspired me to make a coziness simulator based completely in an old-school desktop. Cozy Cabin is meant to be as relaxing as possible. It's set in a quiet, rainy town where your only job is to fish, farm, and mine in order to pay your monthly rent and stay in the cabin.
