Why Early Access?

“Since we released the demo and started recruiting playtesters from our Discord, we realized that we love building the game alongside our community. All the feedback helped to make the game so much better already. But it is an incredibly complex game and there is still a lot things to add, systems to rework and others to get just right.
We hope that going through a phase of open Early Access development will make the game the best it can be, by expanding and improving the right parts.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“How long we will stay in Early Access is not completely decided yet.
It will depend on a number of factors, the feedback from the community, the speed with which we can implement the upcoming features and to an extent the success of the game as well.
Having said that, we will at least be in Early Access until mid 2025.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Most importantly this will depend a lot on the feedback we get from our community. We plan to be in very close exchange to determine the shape of the final game.
To get a feel for what these might be here is a list of things we plan to implement while in Early Access. A lot of these are already based on community feedback:
  • a good tutorial to have a smooth experience even for RTS newcomers
  • a complete rework of the Drop system
  • more variety in the meta progression
  • many more units, upgrades and hacks to allow for even more crazy builds
  • adding key starter units, like the Berzerker and Turtle specialist and more refinery types to allow for more varied playstyles.
  • a lot of key quality of life features, like an autocast system, smarter control group management and better readability for some of the games systems.
  • Controller support
  • full Steam Deck support
  • full support for wider aspect ratios
  • Steam Achievements

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“For more details look at the "About This Game" section of the store page, which only refers to features already implemented.

There is no tutorial, so it might take some endurance to learn the game. We have plans for a nice onboarding process that we want to add before the 1.0 launch.
There is already a lot of content in the game, but some of the key starter units we have planned are still missing.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the price to adjust for added features and content.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Please join the Rogue Command Discord server, if you want to be an active part of the games development!
We are very active there and love to have a direct exchange with our players. The link is in the game and on the Steam store page.
We also read everything that gets submitted to the Steam Community Forums and reply to bug reports and ideas there as well.”

About This Game

THE RTS…

Rogue Command is first and foremost a classic RTS game. Control your units, build your base, harvest resources, explore the map, defend positions and come up with a plan of attack.

But instead of learning your build orders by heart, every time you start a run you are faced with the challenge of coming up with a new build.

…ROGUELIKE

After each battle, you choose from blueprint cards, adding new buildings to your arsenal.

Unit factories, defensive turrets, healing spires or super weapons - every choice shapes your build. Acquire orbital Drops that can shift the tides of battle. Add upgrades to your blueprints to broaden their abilities and enable powerful and surprising combos.

TAKE CONTROL

RTS games can get hectic but in Rogue Command you can slow down time to 10% with the push of a button. This keeps you in the action while allowing you to make the right calls, even when things get overwhelming.

FIND YOUR STYLE

Shape the game to how you want to play, by unlocking new Engineers, economic Buildings and powerful Specialists to start your next run with. The different combinations will change the foundation of your builds in wildly different ways, allowing you to find your favorite line-up to face the tougher adversaries.

WORLDS OF POSSIBILITIES

Lure the enemy into fog that slows them to a crawl or stun them by blowing up static bushes. Launch surprise attacks in the shroud of a sandstorm or wait for a rainstorm to tackle powerful enemies reliant on burning damage. The procedurally generated maps will keep you adapting your choices.

Discover chests with power-ups. Uncover ruins with hidden technologies that might be the key to victory… or full of unwanted surprises.
