What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“In our previous project, much of the feedback we received came after its launch. While the game received very positive feedback, we also received a lot of inventive and interesting criticism that made us regret not gathering enough feedback before the launch.

With Kilta, we want to learn from our previous experiences and provide our early supporters a way to be part of the development. We hope to make Kilta a game that paves a way for future single-player auto battlers and sets new standards for the genre. Ultimately, we wish to do it together with our supporters.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

We estimate that the game will require 4 to 6 months of development in Early Access to reach the finished state. We do not believe in vague release dates or unrealistically specific deadlines, but we are confident that in 4 to 6 months the game has reached the envisioned state.

So far we've received quite a lot of remarkable feedback that has made us rethink how we want Kilta to be compared to how we first envisioned it. As a result, we've concluded that we shouldn't rush the development as we want the game to be worthy of all the praise it has received thus far and, in turn, further work on those parts and ideas that weren't well received. Therefore, the release of the full version and everything beyond it has been delayed until further notice.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“As the game comes to completion, we will finish the main story of 3 chapters and expand the total cast of heroes. We will also bring in multiple new enemies, add a bunch of new items and quests, master audiovisual effects, implement Steam achievements and trading cards, release the soundtrack, and include accessibility features for the blind and visually impaired.

Our vision also includes content to spice up repeated completions, such as unlockables, challenges, and even new game modes down the line.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version currently includes 3 fully playable chapters, 12 unique heroes, 45 enemies, 3 boss encounters, and over 150 items. The game also includes other captivating features involving combat and party management, as well as how you as a player can be in charge of your guild.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

The price of the game will be raised gradually as the game gets updated with new features and content.

We have decided not to raise the price during Early Access. The price will, excluding certain discounts and sales, stay the same until the full version is released.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our early supporters can provide us feedback through Steam community channels, our Discord server, and Twitter, all of which we will be following carefully. At all times, we welcome everyone to join the discussion, talk directly to us, and provide us feedback about the game. Be it positive or negative, all feedback is good feedback. In a way or another, we will do our utmost to implement features and add content that our supporters and community are wishing for.”

About This Game

Kilta is a game about being a Guildmaster of a newly established guild. The guild accepts commissions and quests from all walks of life firstly to promote the common good and secondly to grow as an association. A party needs to be dispatched to take on the challenges and earn glory and recognition, as well as hefty rewards for the guild. It's the Guildmaster's responsibility to assign the party to suitable missions and equip them accordingly.

Recruit new guild members from a growing cast of heroes. All heroes are unique with their characteristics, abilities, and dialogue. Should you recruit Rufus, the mighty macaque guardian that excels in traditional martial arts known to his people? Or Maryu, the heart-warming but savage old lady that can curse your opponents?

Always check what enemies your party is going to face in the upcoming quests. By equipping better items, choosing correct party members, and checking enemy compositions you can minimize your losses and always topple your foes. Try to find the perfect (or the most broken) combinations of heroes and items!

Items are divided into weapons and equipment. One of your tasks as the Guildmaster is to equip your heroes with whatever you have at hand. Items are earned through quests and occasionally through dialogue. There are no character-related restrictions on the items. You are free to experiment with different combinations of items and discover the most powerful builds.

Always remember to pay a visit to the Blacksmith. The Blacksmith can combine your surplus items to forge more powerful items.

As the Guildmaster, you have a growing repertoire of Guildmaster Skills that you can bestow to your party when they embark on a quest. These skills are both blessings and curses that can turn the tide of battle and possibly avoid the annihilation of the party.

The auto battling combat system delivers tactical and engaging action. When the party comes across enemies on their quests, they have to engage them in battles. At the beginning of each battle, it is important to consider the enemies, their abilities, and their formation when positioning your heroes. The heroes will fight by themselves but your preparations will ultimately decide the outcome. In appearance, the battles offer explosive visuals, insanely good music, and cinematic camera action.

Every hero has a background that they may want to share with you. Most often the heroes are arguing by themselves and it's up to you to resolve their conflicts in a way or another. Some choices might lead to surprising outcomes that can even affect the results of the battles up ahead. Are you a caring and capable leader or do you swing to be the worst kingpin of them all?
