What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Nobody is better at pointing the flaws of a game than its players, and the sooner it is on yours hands, the sooner they can be fixed. This is specially true when it comes to making sure that Two by One stays challenging without becoming frustrating. By using Early Access and being able to receive your feedback, we can make a better game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Due to intrinsic complications of making games as a solo developer, we can't guarantee a release date. The current minimum estimate is a year at the very least.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We are planning to gradually update Two by One with more stages and bosses. Most of the game systems are already in place, though we also want to include some additional ways to ease the difficulty without trivializing it in a way similar to what multiplayer does.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current early access version includes 24 stages and a boss.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of Two by One will be evaluated at release and might increase depending on the content of the game at the time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Please feel free to send any feedback you have about the game through the Steam community, Twitter or email. We've also been making consistent updates on the development of the game through Twitter.”

About This Game

Have you ever wanted an extra gun to shoot down the enemies coming at you? A way to finish off the boss twice as fast? Or to cover twice as much of the screen in bullets? Then this game is made for you. But beware, because having twice the firepower also means having twice as many ways to get hit.

Two by One is a Shoot'Em Up that tasks you with controlling two ships simultaneously in order to progress. Enemies that would be invincible with a single ship become beatable with two. Threats that'd fill the screen with bullets disappear before they can shoot a single one.
Yet at the same time you have twice as many ships to protect. A safe spot for one might not be safe for the other, and a hit on one means losing both of them.

Alternatively, you can also bring along a friend and share the load, controlling one ship each. Just make sure you aren't making things even harder for each other.

Features

  • A challenge you haven't faced before: Hardcore stages that aren't just about beating them, but figuring out how to beat them.
  • Death is not a problem: Stages are short and respawns fast, so that death isn't a setback, but just a step in the path to victory.
  • Massive Bosses: Endurance runs where the question isn't whether you can dodge it or not, but for how long.
  • Style: Stylish graphics that stand out like black against a white background. Or the other way around.
  • Local co-op multiplayer: Bring a friend to help out and then make the bullets meant for you go in his direction.

    • Processor: Dual Core 3GHz
    • Memory: 2 GB RAM
