STORY

“So, which one are you gonna join?”

Spring—a season of new encounters. As I walk beneath the cherry blossoms, my heart races in anticipation at what my new life will be like. That is, until students start approaching me a short distance from the campus gate…

“It’s gotta be Gekka, right? Tradition is so important!”

“But Tendo’s all about innovation. Trust me, we have more fun!”

Ainoshima Academy’s two student councils don’t quite get along, but before I transferred here they were splitting the vote dead-even. Now I’m the tiebreaker. That’s why everyone is vying to sway my swing ballot.

“Together, let’s inspire every student to rise to bigger and better things!”

“You’ll be working with our side, though, right?!”
This place was supposed to be my verdant island of love! All I see in the cards is desertion and disappointment—I’ll be letting down half the students no matter which side I choose!

With the expectations of two very vocal factions on my shoulders, how am I going to pick one without ruining my chances at romance?

CHARACTER

Sera Kuragano (Voice: Sora Haruka)
In the protagonist’s year but a different class. She’s also the president of the tradition-loving Gekka Council, a position that everyone acknowledges she earned through a combination of her respectable background and upright conduct; meanwhile, it’s her looks, graces, and enviable style that have brought her massive popularity among the male students. However, she also tends to push people away—that unapproachable atmosphere has left her with fewer real friends than her fandom would suggest. She’s secretly a fan of cute things. (But she might have a strange idea of what’s cute.)

“The rules are the rules. If you object, then please bring the matter to the Gekka Council.”

Haruhi Tenjindaira (Voice: Kokoa Suzuto)

As a student in class 1-A, she’s younger than the protagonist, but though she only recently enrolled as a first-year, her rare magnetism has already made her the president of the dynamic Tendo Council. She loves nothing more than fun and has made it her motto to change the school for the funner—and with her bold vision, sharp analysis, and strong leadership, she’s already secured a huge wave of support. However, she’s less wise in matters of romance: “Love? Nah. When I play for tennis, I ALWAYS play to win.”

“I’m not a shallow enough individual to give my thanks only through words.”

Yuzuki Komagata (Voice: Yukina Fujimori)

A classmate of the protagonist’s. She also serves as the secretary of the Gekka Council, where her cheerful energy lightens up the tension that can otherwise develop, and perhaps it’s that bright personality that’s given her so many friends and a broad base of connections across both council’s supporters. After class she takes her dog on walks or works part-time at the local café Rapunzel, many of the regular customers of which are secretly eating there just to see her.

“Yoo-hoo! Great weather today, huh?”

Kana Kanna  (Voice: Mei Misonoo)

The protagonist’s upperclassman from Class 3A. Soft-spoken, mild-mannered, and caring, she’s the ideal older-sister type—her consideration and kindness can make her seem downright maternal, so everyone likes to go to her for advice. She’s popular across every faction at the school with boys and girls alike, but serves as the vice president of Tendo, where she backs Haruhi up and cleans up after her excesses. (No one is quite sure why Kana’s not the president.)

“Please, have some more tea. The madeleines are homemade as well.”

Mei Motoyurugido (Voice: Risa Matsuda)

The protagonist’s homeroom teacher and Gekka’s faculty advisor. She tends to sit back and let the students take the wheel in both capacities—you could call her relaxed, but she’s also just enough of a klutz to leave herself utterly bereft of authority. The students have nicknamed her “Teach” and tend to think of her as one of the gang.

“If you need my help, just give me the word. I’m here to help however you need!”

Michi Kozuka (CV: Chacha Chamachi)

The protagonist’s classmate and Tendo’s treasurer. Her flashy looks and playgirl style have earned her the nickname Bicchi, and it’s hard to have a conversation with her without hearing about love, clothes, or makeup, but despite the ditzy front, she takes her duties to the Tendo council seriously.

“Nyahaha, looks like you’re my new partner in crime.”
