What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I've decided to release Page One now as I have a large amount of the games art and structure complete and can release it in early access for people who want to see these elements come together and contribute their thoughts and ideas to the project.

The building process for Page One is also a unique element to the development of this project as I've create a bespoke game engine using Unity3D that allows Page One's artwork and puzzles to be brought together easily and quickly. This will be documented along the way on my Youtube channel and website.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Based on feedback from the users I hope to have Page One in Early Access for four months with a full release coming in November/December.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Page One while in early access won't have all the locations and puzzles available. As early access continues areas within the house you explore will become unlocked. This will be most evident at the beginning with the ground floor of the house only being accessible.

Page One will move from early access once all these elements are in places and the full story and all the locations can be explored.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Page One is based on a custom built games engine which is in it's final stages of development.

Although the games engine and artwork is mostly complete the two are currently coming together so there will be a large amount of progress in a short time at the beginning of its early access release.

The best examples of this are that in the first stages of early access Page One's locations will be limited with only the ground floor of the house available. These locations will be worked on and opened up during production slowly revealing the whole story.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Page One is being offered for free while in early access and there are no plans to make the full release paid for.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community is very important for Page One's development as I will be documenting the building of the game and also offering the engine for free for others to build their own.

Page One is currently being documented on my website and this should be the first port of call to find out more about it's development and how you can get in touch.

I also hope that Page One's Steam Forum will provide me with direct connect with the community. So I'll be very active on that and fully welcome feedback, suggestions and bug reports in there.

About This Game

A beach, a house, the howling rain and a mystery to uncover.

Page One is a throwback adventure taking its inspiration from such classic games as Zork: Grand Inquisitor and Myst. Each 360 degree environment is hand drawn with original audio, and as you navigate your way through the dark house, puzzles help you to uncover new locations and reveal the mysteries hidden within.

Playable in both desktop and VR, take control of the first chapter of this 360 degree adventure.

I'm a lone developer and for several years I've been working on a game and game engine that allows you to create VR/Desktop 360 adventures using your images, video and audio. To demonstrate this engine I've created Page One, a hand drawn and hand crafted game that puts you in the middle of a mystery of an old beach house that appears abandoned. What secrets does it have to reveal, who lives there and maybe the biggest question, why are you there to begin with?

As you explore Page One please check out the videos online I've created showing the development process. Contact me and let me know what you think and how I can improve things as I push build towards a full release after early access.
I want to know your thoughts, if you'd be interested in making your own adventures and if you've enjoyed playing mine.
