What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Primarily, we want to see how much attention this niche theme will get. Also, JusticeExe is a very information heavy game. We want to have players' impressions on how fun/boring and difficult/easy it is to navigate through a case so that both Ux and scenario structures can be improved”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About 6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We would like to implement more interaction with opposing lawyer, new mechanics to manipulate feel of the courtroom, in game social media feedback and limit how arguments could be constructed.

Also our release goal is 8 cases.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Mechanics-wise, base game works: you can speak with your client and witnesses in discovery, discover arguments / evidences, go to court, play court dialogues, use arguments, use court skills, win / lose, gain contacts, gain stats as you use them.

Gaining new abilities are implemented but there are no abilities beyond generic 4.

There are 4 scenarios (tutorial + 3)”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We decided our price on the assumption that game will be between 8-10 hours of gameplay. We might tweak the price a little bit if there is less / more content than we expected by the time all new development, bug fixing and polish has ended.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have a discord server set up and will probably use it alongside community hub discussions.

We are actually looking forward to people asking "how do I do [something]?" so we can refine Ux and tutorials. However, we don't actually expect people to do bug-busting.

In terms of content, we expect community to point out typos or lexical / structural ambiguities. We don't expect players to suggest scenarios.”

About This Game

Welcome, you're an attorney and the year is 2279. Robotics and Artificial Intelligence have come a long way. Sentience is now prolific among every day AI and your food processor or washing machine has agency. The question is whether they should have some rights, or any rights at all.

Pry into complex cases, facing controversies and moral ambiguities of Sentient Artificial Intelligence. Your AI clients need you to win for the sake of sentient AI and it's not a matter of right and wrong; it's a matter of how much you can bend the truth before. Don't worry, justice is proprietary and truth is stretchy.

Gather information, speak to witnesses and prepare for court. Using the evidence you've gathered and arguments you've formulated you'll need to fight to defend your client. The courtroom is not a quaint atmosphere, you can try diligently barraging jury with hard facts and evidence, or cunningly pull their heart strings, either way manupilation comes with the territory. You have to tweak how you speak according to who will decide your client's future.

Thankfully you'll have your trusty AttorneyOS to do a lot of the grunt work. They'll read, write and respond to emails for you, get you in touch with leads and organise your case files, but ultimately the case is in your hands.

So what are you waiting for? Fire up your computer and log on to the Justice-X servers.
Your clients are waiting.
