What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Our aim is to create the ultimate tool to allow sim racers to go faster on the track.

The current version of the app supports well-known sim racing games:

iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, rFactor, rFactor2, Project Cars, Project Cars2, F1 2017, F1 2018, F1 2019, F1 2020

We are looking for the community to tell us which games they would like us to add support for next.

We have included a comprehensive list of data channels that we think our customers will find useful to perform their analysis. However, we think that the community will have ideas on what other data they need to go faster.

The app integrates with external USB capture devices, as well as offering video capture via the PC itself. We have performed extensive testing with Avermedia LGP Lite and the Avermedia GSC835 capture devices - other capture devices that we have tried are also working - but we need more feedback to confirm full support - or for us to improve support.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“We expect to be in 'early access' for 6 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Full support for iRacing [NOW COMPLETE]. Further game support will be added in line with feedback from the community - for example F1 2020 [NOW COMPLETE] and Project Cars 3. We will integrate OBS video capture as an alternative to our in built video capture [Beta coming soon]. We also aim to include support for Assetto Corsa and F1 games played on consoles with data capture over the local network in line with community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully functional as described in the 'about this software' section.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are keen to learn what our customers want us to focus on next, so that we can continue to evolve this product into the most useful tool to improve lap times on popular sim racing games.

Please report issues to us by emailing: simsupport@racelogic.co.uk”

About This Software

VBOX Sim is a new and exciting way to go faster, using the same tools sim racing that professional racing drivers use in the real world!

VBOX Sim allows you to capture race data and video from your favourite racing game, and analyze laps in the popular Circuit Tools application - the quickest way to go faster.

The following games are supported:
  • iRacing
  • rFactor
  • rFactor2
  • Project Cars
  • Project Cars 2
  • Assetto Corsa
  • Assetto Corsa Competizione
  • F1 2017
  • F1 2018
  • F1 2019
  • F1 2020

For an even more authentic experience, VBOX Sim is compatible with the VBOX Laptimer (purchased separately), as used in car for giving instant driver feedback.

Includes Circuit Tools - accessible via the help tab.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS: 10
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Additional Notes: Requires Circuit Tools v2.9.30 or later (included). Built in PC based video capture increases load on the PC whilst recording. For most modern, machines that can comfortably run the chosen SIM racing game this should not be noticeable. However, if the PC is already near the limit for the game that is running, it may be necessary to reduce resolution/quality settings for VBOX Sim video capture to avoid video lagging behind telemetry. Alternatively, consider purchasing an external video capture device to reduce the load on the PC. For ultra wide monitors we recommend reducing the capture resolution if performance problems ensue. Support is included for external video capture devices such as the Avermedia LGP Lite as an alternative to the built in PC Based video capture. VBO files should be opening with Circuit Tools v2.9.30 or later (available on the Help tab in VBOX Sim).
