What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are a newly founded VR company and this is our first game. As ROG Studios, we are a young group of developers with an average age of 27, who aim to take VR to the next level but we need time, support and patience. We develop as we learn new methods and techniques, that's why we need more time to develop our game. As any other work, a good quality VR game needs a lot of time to be developed, especially if it's your first try. So, please consider helping us develop our game into a great experience. We need your support in the early access stage so that we can release the full product earlier than expected, with higher quality.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We started developing at the beginning of 2020 and we need at least 4 more months to finalize the game. That's why we need the help of beta testers for some time. We want players to have smooth and high quality experiences in multiplayer modes, so we are not rushing it.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version, there will be lots of different maps, weapons, enemies, boss fights, characters, extended maps etc. Building a virtual world with RPG elements is very difficult, especially if it is VR. That's why we are trying to develop the "must haves" first, so that people can enjoy our game earlier. But in the full release, we believe this game will be the reason for buying VR, if the VR community supports us through the process.

Also, we will improve the models, characters, interactions, body IK, hand physics etc.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In the current state, we have a HUB (main menu) which is our main spaceship where we choose missions, edit our load-out, change settings and enjoy space. We have a prologue/tutorial map where we learn and get used to the mechanics of the game since Jack Walker has agile movement and combat mechanics. Other than that, we have 1 mission map called Xidrion (an alien planet map) which contains a boss fight at the end.

We are currently working on 2 new maps. We call them, Robot Factory and Cyber City, for now... In the upcoming months, these maps will be playable for single and multiplayer too (both online and local).

There are boss fights in all these maps and they are all different. For example, in the robot factory, you will fight a 15 meters high robot, which is pretty difficult and fun... In the alien planet map there are multiple mini-bosses and a main boss...

The single player system we have is called "contracts", which means every episode is different from each other because you will be playing as an intergalactic bounty hunter. We plan to update the game with new maps, weapons and characters, as well as fixing bugs and polishing the game with the help of beta testers.

To sum up, there is a tutorial map, a mission map and our hub. New maps, enemies and weapons will come as updates, in the upcoming months.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We want to set the early access price affordable, so that everyone can try it out and help us by giving feedback. At the same time we need people's financial and moral support to complete the full game as desired. But as we come closer to full release, the price will gradually increase, as more content will be there to play. However, it will never be expensive. We aim to keep the price at medium range.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have a discord channel and a trello board where we aim to chat with the beta testers so that we can receive feedback faster and easier. This way we can improve the game quickly. You can find the links in our website.”
