Miksi Early Access?

We are releasing this game as an Early Access title because, although this is a perfectly good game that can stand as-is without modifications, we know we can make it better. We have a lot of things planned, ranging from resource and graphical improvements and optimizations, to adding additional treasure-hunting features and rewards. We want to be able to work with the community to create the best experience possible to keep you coming back for more.

Miten kauan peli tulee arviolta olemaan Early Access -vaiheessa?

We're estimating that we can hit the bulk of our intended stops on our road map within the next six months or so, and the final additions hopefully by this time next year.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

Our vision of a completed game will include a better, more immersive graphical experience. The game presently does not utilize any specific render pipelines and one of our first goals will be to implement this to improve performance and visual quality. There will be some improvements and changes to the world around the games and the possible addition of a mini-game or two tucked away in one of the lookout towers. We would like to add leader boards to compare game scores and are looking into the possibility of (but not promising) having multiple player capability utilizing Steam's networking API.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

At this exact moment, this game is fully functional and playable as intended. Four 18-hole courses, along with color coded enhancements that will change up game play. We've hidden a number of different collectible items around the island, each having special qualities and different ways to enhance the overall game.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

We will not be creating DLC for this game to recoup the costs of the additional work, instead there will be a modest price increase to the game once most of the features are added to the mix.

We plan to utilize the Steam forum dedicated to this game to discuss new ideas, detail where we are in the development cycle, and post updates. We invite constructive feedback and will consider reasonable recommendations or suggestions for improving the overall game.

We will also have a beta branch of the game for those willing to help test out new features prior to their being fully implemented into the game.

In the Works...

Development continues on Pirate Island Mini Golf - VR. With the completion of the multiplayer Scallywags update, the focus is now on improving the environment. Most notably, the distinct lack of actual Pirates on the island!

This update, which is still being worked on, developed, and tested internally prior to releasing to the testing branch, will add a full crew compliment to the island. This, in addition to a number of environmental updates and cosmetic upgrades, we hope will make Pirate Island a living, breathing world.

As of the Scallywag Update, Pirate Island Mini Golf VR is now a multiplayer player virtual reality experience set in a scenic tropical island. Up to four of your friends can play any of the four, 18-hole courses placed throughout the old pirate stronghold. Each course has multiple challenges and enhancements that can be unlocked, to mix up game play and keep you coming back for more.

So come to Pirate Island! Tune in the radio to a music style of your choice and play a couple rounds. Take a swim in the ocean to find hidden, unique sea shells that unlock new content, or just watch the fireflies come out as the sun sets over the horizon.
