What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Now that the base engine of the game has been built out, we have the ability to add in a ton of fun mini game content. While this is all being created, having player actively go through the content and give feedback will provide a much better end product. We are looking for as much user engagement and response as possible about where the fun is in the game. The development will focus in a ratio of 90/10 on player ideas vs dev ideas.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“To get to the full v 1.0 of the game will take about six months to a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of the game will have a large compliment of mini-games the players can select from. These games each having scoring mechanisms that travel through the entire game experience. Each rounds points building on the last, with semi-permanent upgrades following between mini games. Think of other popular party type games, but you get to customize your character as you play through it.

Easy co-op gaming with your friend in private lobbies or joining people you have not met for some low stakes mini-game fun. The end goal is to even have large 30-40 player lobbies with huge multiplayer mini game experiences. Recreating classic summer camp style (open grass field) games like capture the flag and the like.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently the game supports one large group mini-game: Goblin tag. It is very fun to play with 6+ people, and gains huge levels of excitement as more people join. There are two maps completed with a third on the way that are rotated between after three games on each.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be priced much lower at the start of early access. As more and more mini-games are added, the price will raise.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have have dedicated discord channel for feedback and group chat. Feedback in regards to feature requests, mini-game suggestions, bugs and everything else is handled through there at the moment. We would like to create a robust Steam community page as well to pull feedback from.”

About This Game

Welcome Young Goblin Camper to your first summer camp. Run around with all your Goblin friends and play multiplayer mini games in a low stakes environment. This casual game focuses on large group multiplayer action that is fun for all ages.

Cumulative power-ups
All the power-ups you gain are multiplicative and last throughout the game. Each mini game has it own reward factor that allows you to add another upgrade to your stack! If you decided to be a full throttle speed goblin you will really feel the power as you apply more and more of the same upgrade. Like to jump? Be like a flea! Stack hopping powers to bound over obstacles and go where no rival goblin can follow you.

Mini-game based fun
A full game of Goblin Summer Camp consists of 6 mini-games randomly picked from the pool. The winner is the Goblin with the most overall points at the end of the 6th round. So it's ok if you don't do well every now and then, it all averages out.

  • Goblin Tag: Try to escape into the Goblin Warrens without being caught. Completing each round gives you a choice in upgrades for your runner. Allowing you to be faster, smaller, jump higher or drop deployables. Those who are too slow and are tagged join the opposite team. They now help take down any survivors using whatever upgrades they have already attained.

  • Kicks and bridges: Kick rival goblins off bridges into the murky waters below to lead your team to victory. Points are awarded for survival and confirmed knock offs. Gain upgrades if you are kicked into the water. (Still Being Developed)

  • Race to the top: Scramble up The Great Mountain and reach the top before your friends to be rewarded. Watch out for falling debris or you might just get whacked into the abyss. Upgrades can be found hidden in side caches, and points are awarded based on placement in the race. (Still Being Developed)

We are looking for more great ideas for mini-games that have been chosen by the community. Please let us know what you want to play! Multiplayer engagement and fun on a casual level is the goal. All development will focus on whatever brings the most fun without increasing anxiety for players.
