What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game (including its persistent universe) has been released on our platform and is being played for more than a year. As for a MMO game, we plan to continuously add new content and incorporate player feedback throughout its life, but some important elements are still needed in order to balance the economy even in its current state.

In particular, for some of the in-game items, there are only producers, or only consumers, leading to global market imbalances and requiring price interventions from us. For example, there is no producing building for shields (blacksmith makes only swords for now), and the prices tend to grow constantly until we reset them, affecting any long term strategic planning that a player may employ.

We want to keep the game in Early Access until we close the economic loops for the currently available in-game items (see bellow for a list of features). The result should be a fully balanced supply / demand player driven economy, which sits at the core of Cave to Kingdom's concept.

After exiting Early Access we will continue to add more content as mentioned, but we will release producers & consumers at the same time, in order to keep the game balanced at all times.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We will bring the game out of early access when we will close the economic loop for building materials and for war equipment. This should happen before or during Q2 of 2020.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

  • Blacksmith upgrades to produce Shields, Chain Mail, etc.
  • Mine building to produce Iron Ore and consume Logs
  • Foundry building to produce Steel Bars out of Iron Ore and Charcoal
  • Damage & Auto-Repair feature to buildings
  • Vehicle based transportation system
  • Integration with Steam APIs, including in-app payments & leaderboards

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable and contains all the features that are mentioned in the description, and more. We do lack proper documentation for now, as our main communication channel has been through release announcements and change logs.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“In-app prices will not change due to exiting Early Access on Steam. Our general policy has been to gradually decrease building license prices as we released more buildings, and we plan to continue using it.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will very carefully consider all feedback received from Steam users. Although we do have our own website and forums, our moderators will also interact with the players on the Steam Community pages.”

About This Game

Cave to Kingdom is a cross platform 3D online medieval management & strategy game, featuring a single Persistent Universe with player driven economy, war, and taxes. The game plays very slowly, requiring only a few minutes each day.

City Building

At the start of the game you pick a location on the World Map for your hometown.

You can then construct buildings such as houses, farms, thresher, bakery, blacksmith, barracks, archery, and others, in order to grow your production and population. Following your orders, your citizens and soldiers will strive to complete their tasks even when you are offline.

You can instantly sell your product on the world market and influence the prices, but for all items you produce, you'll have to pay a tax to your hometown's Baron, Count, King, and Emperor, as a percentage of their market value.

Buy or produce war equipment, use it to train citizens into soldiers in the Barracks or the Archery, form armies, and send them to fight on the World Map.

World Map

Cave to Kingdom features a World Map, with over 4 million cities with real coordinates, split into 7800 Provinces.

You can use your army or form a military alliance with other players' armies in order to conquer Cities and Provinces, and create or conquer other Kingdoms and Empires.

Your armies can be freely relocated to any city from the political realm you belong to, and attacks can only be issued in the vicinity of your own realm, generating a multitude of territorial or subversive strategic possibilities.

The taxes collected from all players that have as hometown a particular city never go to a single recipient, but are split evenly among the 4 Rulers:

  • Baron - ruler of the City
  • Count - ruler of the Province the city belongs to
  • King - ruler of the Kingdom (formed by joining at least 2 provinces)
  • Emperor - ruler of the Empire (formed by joining at least 2 kingdoms)

You have countless ways of developing your Kingdom, and you can choose your path, both in terms of production chains or military strategy.

Compare your skills with people from all over the world and prove your worth!
