What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I want to get feedback from players so that I can develop Pull Stay in its best shape. The core game mechanics are already implemented, but there are some rooms I can try branching out. I want to communicate with my players to figure out the most enjoyable gameplay for Pull Stay.
On top of the gameplay, the story element is critically important for me. Pull Stay is a “hikikomori”(shut-in) themed game. As a hikikomori myself, I want to deliver a story through Pull Stay. I already implemented this story element in the game, but I want to make sure it makes sense to players. Their feedback should help me refine the storytelling as well.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It will be likely about a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full release, I am planning to have additional stage(s), new boss(es), new enemy(ies), new special move(s), new traps, and other elements like mini-game(s).
I would like to determine the overall scope based on the communication with my players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core game mechanics are already implemented. Currently, Pull Stay has 6 stages, 3 stage-bosses, 10+ enemies, 10+ traps, 10 special moves, 2 mini-games, the last stage & boss, etc…”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The full version may be priced slightly higher.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Due to the lack of time as being a solo developer, I could not have communicated with my community as much as I wanted. But after the Early Access launch, I will definitely have time to communicate with the players on my Discord and Steam Community.”

About This Game

  • Beat 'em up brawler as the core mechanic. You can learn a new move by smacking each enemy type accordingly.
  • Silly and funny Traps: Baked fish missile, Toothpaste turret, Watermelon bazooka... and much more! In the Early Access version, 13 types of gadgets are ready to be unlocked by you!

  • Break neighbors' houses to collect resources. Use them to set traps or build a new room.
  • You can have Susumu make power-up items for you. But be careful! When he's goofing off, give him some loving punishment.

Encounter quirky bosses!

Besides defending your house, you need to counter various bosses coming this way. Don't be fooled by their strange appearance. It's their tactics!

  • Young jobless guy who is avoiding social interactions and shutting himself inside his room all day.
  • In Japan, people like him are called Hikikomori(shut-in), which has become a big social problem.
  • Enemies are trying to reach out to Susumu because they are worried about him, or want to mock him, or just want to see a hikikomori firsthand...
  • When enemies reach Susumu, the game is over. I cannot explain what exactly will happen there, but I can relate to Susumu so badly because I'm also a Hikikomori. I'm making this game solo just trying to reflect my own situation with this game...
