Why Early Access?

“This is a big jump in scope for us and some important features are not yet ready, but we really needed to start engaging with you, our community to:

• begin the process of learning from your experiences - what works and what doesn't,
  
• discovering what you find most valuable,
  
• what you think is missing and
  
• just generally making sure we are on the right track.

Early Access seemed the natural way to do this.”

“We are expecting Early Access to last for about 6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Although we believe that Masterpiece Studio is usable in it's early state, we need our community to help guide us with the final features!
To come in the full version:
Collaboration: Currently, collaboration is not available. We want to hear from you how you would use it so we can ensure we get it right when it's ready.
Advanced Mesh Tools: Our current mesh tools are useful but we are planning big improvements - we need to hear what you need to do so we can nail that as well!
Advanced Integrations: We have several integrations now, but we know we can do better - this is a big area of development. Let us know what workflows are important to you and we'll get them in there.
Other: Let us know what's critically missing and we'll build it!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We believe that Masterpiece Studio is usable in it's early state, but we need our community to help guide us with the final features and give us critical advice on the state so far.
Exporting is not currently available and some major features (collaboration, advanced meshes, integrations) are not yet ready for prime time - sorry!
Because this is an early access release, you can expect a few bugs too. We're working hard to squash them as fast as we can, but we also need your help to shape the final product so Early Access seemed the best way. We hope you agree and look forward to hearing from you!”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Pricing will increase once early access comes to a close.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are really looking forward to your comments and suggestions! As new features and improvements become available, we will post them on public beta branches for those fearless users who want to test the latest and greatest. We will also have forum discussions, discord chat and an Ideas portal available shortly. We'll post links to them once they're up and running.
