What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“My goals for this game include a full campaign with voice-acted story, at least two dozen unique demons, lots of extra playable levels for added variety, more unlockable player items and more secret areas / easter eggs to be found.

I'm also planning on using Early Access to garnish more feedback from players and make changes to the game accordingly. I want to make the best game I possibly can and Early Access will allow me to continue to work on my product, receive feedback, and see it through to completion.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately three point five years, plus or minus one point five years. This is an ambitious project with only one part-time developer working on it and it will stay in EA until its ready for full release.

The early access launch date is when most of the basic features for the game are functional, but I'll be adding lots more demons and levels and secret areas and probably items and definitely voice acting and content too over the coming years.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of the game will increase the following quantities:
Playable levels (current 1, desired 20+)
Demons in the game (current 8, desired 30+)
Secret areas, hidden things, Easter eggs, types of enemies, voice acting and dialogue, etc.

And more polish, less bugs.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access is set to release Sep 1st 2020 and is currently being worked on and improved every single day by 100% of the employees at Bad Cop Worse Cop Studios. Majority of the features listed in the "About This" section are already implemented and most of what still needs doing are content creation and level building.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No idea. Full release is still very far away”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I stream development of this game live on Twitch every night and take feedback anywhere I can get it!

About This Game

In active development since 2016, this is a first-person strategy game about summoning demons and toppling a civilization one castle at a time in order to re-live the story of the man who already did that. Gain the trust of that man - your jailor - by embellishing the details if you wish but the one thing you must do is become the new king while taking no lives with your own hands.

Some demons are stealthy; others not so much. Summon an army, manage them well and control the flow of information across the battlefield to catch Keeps and Castles unawares or poorly defended. But beware, the summoning process compels them to follow you around but that's all - they still retain their own fickle personalities and will quit your service in the worst way possible if ever they stop having enough fun.

The information flowing across the battlefield can be used to your advantage, too. Your foe start out living peaceful AI lives until you ruin that for them, and each map has at least one Keep or Castle that will organize defenses, send for reinforcements, and warn everyone it can once informed about your invasion. Nobody here has cell phones, though, so it's possible to avoid direct confrontation using hit and run / guerrilla tactics until your army is strong enough to win.

Made by a single disabled Army veteran in Unity over the course of 4+ years and 30,000+ listens of the song Eye of the Tiger by Survivor.
