What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“LAMO is all about chaotic, short-burst rounds of competitive gameplay, and we want to make sure we provide players with the features and tools to nail that core vibe. The only way we can guarantee that happens is by communicating closely with players and updating the gameplay based on direct player feedback before adding in additional game content.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We will remain in Early Access until July 2020, assuming all of our major features and additions are performing properly.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Features planned through 2020 include a scoring / experience system, accessible player stats, seasonal battlepass, ultimate abilities, and additional gameplay modes.

We will also be adding completely new maps into the game, each with their own unique objectives, capture points, and cataclysmic events. Many of these maps will include different max player count per game session as well.

LAMO will enter Early Access with 5 playable real-life streamers, and we already have a long lineup of other well-known Internet personalities who will be periodically dropping into the game. With the addition of more characters comes even more gameplay variation, including unique ultimate abilities and stat differences.

The planned variation in LAMO characters, abilities, skins, and stats is the driving force for the game’s longevity. At its core, this game is all about blowing everything up, punching people with a huge mech suit, and of course some tasteful trash talking. Every update through Early Access and beyond will only add to the insanity!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“LAMO offers a fast-paced online multiplayer experience. Our first map - LAMO Land - features 3 different themed areas, multiple capture points, a controllable mech suit, constructible towers, powerups , and a cataclysmic game-ending event. The entirety of the map is destructible, from the rocks to the trees to the ground itself. Players can choose to join into an 8 player Duos game solo or party up with a friend. Last LAMO standing wins!

Players have access to a Loadout menu where they can equip different playable LAMOs, hover vehicles, mech suits, and towers.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“LAMO will always be a free-to-play game, and will offer optional microtransactions.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The insight we can gain from experienced gamer feedback is invaluable at this stage of development, and we will explore different ways of implementing feedback as we update the Early Access version of LAMO. The main goal for Early Access is to improve the core gameplay prior to adding auxiliary content. A multiplayer-focused game requires a strong community to succeed, and we know that bringing the players into the development process at this early stage can give us the opportunity to listen, learn, implement, and respond to any feedback we may receive. While we will be active on our Steam discussion boards we will also be responding to feedback and bugs here: https://www.playlamo.com/support”
