What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I wish to release the game in early access to allow the community to have an input and shape the final stages of development of the game. I hope to make the game into one of the best city builders out there.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Plan to come out of early access after converting to Unreal engine 5 which should be in 12 - 16 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game at early access will be slightly rough, buggy and unbalanced. Your advice and complaints will be used to improve and create a fun and enjoyable experience for those seeking casual gameplay all the way up to those wanting hardcore survival.

Here is a few planned features from the roadmap:
*Large enemy villages
*Relationships with other villages
*Pop up events that require a decision from the player to decide the fate of a peasant
*More buildings and jobs
*More types of crops
*Viking raiders
*Optional fog of war”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current game is a tactical town builder set in medieval times with multiple seasons, day night cycles and lots of building and jobs to be utilized, villagers will need to be kept safe from other villages, bandits, animals, starvation, disease and the cold. You can grow and fortify your town and efficiently place buildings to increase your chance of survival.

Updates are released every week fixing bugs and adding new content”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be around 33% cheaper while in early access, the price will be raised up once fully released.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“All advice and complaints will be heard and will help shape the focus and development of the game. There will be a forum opened up on release to provide a place to post criticism and advice.”

About This Game

(Early Access game in alpha, multiple updates each week and a weekly summary of changes)

Bastide is a city building strategy of life in the 13th century where you must guide your village of peasants to thrive and survive against other villages, bandits, hunger, disease, and the cold so that they may grow into a fortified town. To be able to survive and grow, efficiently managing your peasants is extremely important with anything and everything ready to cause havoc at any moment. Use the surrounding animals to either hunt or to place into pastures.
