What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are launching the game on Early Access so that more people can have a chance at playing the game before it is officially released. Some features planned for the final version will still take a while to develop, so we decided that it would be a good idea to let people play the game while those features are in development.

Some things we hope to get out of this:
- To get community feedback on existing and future features before the official release
- To stress test and optimize performance
- To uncover and fix bugs
- To test out and revise moderation strategies and community rules”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Currently our plan is to keep the game in an ongoing playable beta, up until the official release. In terms of a time frame, this will be as long as it takes us to have a working final version we are happy with. Since none of us are being paid for developing the game, it depends heavily on our schedules and motivation, but we estimate it'll be finished before the end of 2020.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Overall the game will be the same but perhaps with a few more major features. Some things we are considering are:
- More detailed profile stats and a reward/XP system for playing and making levels
- Localization/translation to a few languages (volunteers welcome and appreciated!)
- A tutorial on how to play and make levels
- More challenge modes
- More objects to place in levels
- More music tracks and level visuals
- Improved UI”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Everything from making, playing, and sharing levels is fully functional. Users can also customize their profile, create level playlists, play challenge modes, and compete for speedrun records on levels. Some parts of the UI are placeholder.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will remain completely Free to Play.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be listening to feedback and suggestions on existing and future features. We have a Discord server where people can communicate directly with the developers and post feedback and bug reports in their respective channels. Last year we held a graphics competition in the community where the best submissions made it in the game as a usable asset for levels.”
