What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access allows us to make the best game possible by acquiring feedback from the community. Our main goal is to make the best 2D puzzle editor we can provide. We need your help to come up with crazy and inventive ways to use the mechanics and to test the engine to it's fullest extent so that we can find and iron out any bugs or problems. We are also excited to get feedback and suggestions on how the mechanics in the game should work and what kind of things would compliment the current set of mechanics.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are planning to be in early access for 1-2 years. However, this is our first game that we have released to the public and we will be learning how to roll with the punches and support a community. During this time we will be working to implement all of the best features that have been suggested and hopefully work through all of the bugs and problems with the engine. We will also be finishing the adventure mode and story as well as the internals of the underlying engine that the game ships on.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will contain a complete adventure mode with cutscenes and a tight set of adventure level packs that take the player through most of the mechanics of the game in a fun and accessible way. We will be working to complete around 30-40 adventure maps. The final game will also feature an original soundtrack and sound effects that compliment the gameplay. The main menu will be completed and stylized to give a much better feel to the game. We plan to try and implement a way for people to easily share custom levels through Steam Workshop from within the game as well as sharing them through third party avenues using the level files themselves. We may even try a form of base64 Pastebin compatible sharing. The full game will also feature many more mechanics and ways to decorate along with better features and tools in the level editor. We may also implement cooperative puzzles where two players can solve puzzles together. We plan on revisiting a versus minigame called Princess Panic where players compete to be the last princess standing by clearing and covering the map using exploding peaches. This game mode will be a nice change of pace and way to share the game with your friends through local multiplayer while taking advantage of the artwork and level editor provided in the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We currently have over 100 different puzzle maps that we have created during our development process. These are arranged in 3 different unlockable puzzle packs. We are currently working on the adventure map packs and are around 25% complete with the levels themselves. We have a fully functioning level editor that players will be able to use in the same way that we use it to make our levels. We are working hard on sound effects and music but the game currently only has one placeholder song and a hand-full of sound effects. The intro cutscene and overall story for the game is not present yet. We have placeholder intro and completion cutscenes. The main menu is pretty basic and many of the animations and sprites will be finished and added during the coming months. There is currently no way to share levels from within the game but they can be shared by transferring the level files through other avenues like email. The settings menu and keybindings are still in development and controller support is present but a lot of the mappings may change from controller to controller.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are keeping the price low for early access to encourage people getting involved with the game and help us experiment with level ideas and mechanics. Once we release the game we plan on increasing the price but we also might try releasing a free demo at that time so you can experiment with the game mechanics and the editor before buying the full game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“During early access we will be trying to get in touch with and encourage level designers. We will be providing ways for early access players to send us feedback and suggestions for what kinds of things should be added or changed in the game. We wont be able to carry out all of the suggestions but we will read and regularly consider the mechanics that have been suggested to us as well as ones that we have come up with. We will have an open Trello board that the community can view to see what kinds of things we are thinking about and working on. Once we have support for sharing levels in the game we might also try organizing some sort of developer picks where we showcase some of our favorite levels created by the community. We want to be as open as possible with the community about how the development process is coming along and we hope to post information and stories about our experiences while making the game. You can check out the blog on our website or follow us on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram to see more content.”
