What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Rude Racers is being developed by a small indie team of two developers. We have put in a lot of effort to deliver super-fun gameplay and a flawless, bug-free app but given the immense variety of events and complex AI algorithms and race mechanics, there is considerable potential to bring more balance to the overall gameplay and progression.

An Early Access release will give us more time to patiently and properly improve the product. As a small team with limited resources, the revenue made from Early Access will allow us to enhance the quality of existing features and build and explore new possibilities.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The main single-player campaign in Rude Racers is organised in the format of seasons and we already have 3 action-packed seasons that are being offered in Early Access. Work is already underway on two new seasons and there are plans to also develop a sixth and final season.

We estimate that extending the current scope of the project and other touch-ups and basic rework of some graphic assets will mean that the game will remain in Early Access for 3-4 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Two new seasons are being presently developed which will be available at the time of full release. We have plenty of fresh action, event-types, bikes and other content that we guarantee will take the already crazy gameplay to the next level!

Gamers and members of the indie community have been very helpful so far and we are already working on incorporating some of the best ideas that we've received in feedback and suggestions. An exhibition mode where players can come up with creative and wacky ideas for custom race-events is almost a certainty for the full release and we are also internally testing some prototypes for local multiplayer!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Just about everything that we have described on Rude Racers' store listing is already available in the Early Access builds. Most of the special events, riders, bikes and weapons are accessible in the first 3 seasons and we reckon there is enough content to keep players engaged for a good 5 hours at least.

We also have a Quickplay feature in the game where users can enter randomly generated events for short gameplay sessions and even get a chance to test drive bikes that they may not yet have unlocked in the Seasons campaign.

All the features being offered in Early Access were extensively tested with actual users and despite being in Early Access, Rude Racers is a well-made, optimised and bug-free product.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Development of new seasons and gameplay content imposes considerable additional requirements of designs, animations etc as well as many more hours of programming and testing.

To thank the Early Access users for buying the game while it is being developed and supporting us, and to offset our costs for further development, we plan to increase the price for the final release of Rude Racers by 50%.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Rude Racers is the kind of game where possibilities are endless owing to its advanced and scalable AI and race-management system. We have simply not held back in experimenting with ideas that can help make this game the definitive combat-racing experience and the involvement of the community has proven invaluable so far.

To build a game that is easy to pick up and play yet hard to master and deliver an experience that never gets stale or repetitive, we are always open to new ideas, suggestions and improvements and will never leave any stone unturned in our endeavour to build a fun and high-quality product.

We encourage all players to freely contact us on our twitter and also post their thoughts and feedback on the dedicated Rude Racers Early Access group on Steam.

You can also connect with us on Discord.”

Seasons

The single-player campaign of Rude Racers is long and demanding with lots of fast racing, intense rivalries and non-stop combat! Spread out over 5 Seasons, there are more than 50 exciting events that offer a variety of challenges ranging from quick point-to-point sprints and elimination races to the bone-crunching action of the death matches and nail-biting finishes of the Outrun events!

Winning events awards the player Trophies and Cash that are used to unlock new bikes, riders and weapons or to buy special Kits for their bikes to gain an edge over the rival racers.

With each new Season, the action gets faster and harder!

Special Events

Rude Racers is more than just reaching the finish line and beating your opponents to a pulp! Each season introduces innovative and unique challenges that will put your skills to the ultimate test.

Take out the pizza-delivery bikes in Pizza Panic, recover your bike from the Police Truck in the Recovery events, dodge the oncoming oil barrels in the Exploder series or teach the nasty bullies with their supercharged bikes a lesson in the Hunter events—the veriety of content on offer is simply astounding!

Boss Matches and Special Kits

With tougher opponents and more demanding races, each Season is harder than the one before and to keep up with the racers, you need to upgrade to faster bikes that have better armor and handling. If you don’t want to splurge on new bikes, then the Final event of any Season is the best way to overthrow the top competitor and get control of their unique bike. These concept bikes cannot be purchased with Cash and will ensure that you stand out in the crowd!

Before each event, you also get presented with an option to pick up some crazy power-ups for your bike—get that extra bit of speed on overtaking manoeuvres with Boost Packs, increase your armor with Shields or spill some oil in the path of trailing opponents to send them sliding into a wall!

Crazy opponents!

The tremendous variety in types of opponent racers is perhaps the biggest strength of Rude Racers. Months of meticulous experimentation and testing has enabled us to design some of the most advanced AI ever seen in the genre. Rival racers are always aware of their surroundings and objectives and will behave differently based on the situation which enhances the replay-value of the events.

From skilled no-nonsense racers to heavy-handed lunatics who’d try to hurt you no matter the cost, every racer has a very real personality.

Face-off against the high-flying motocross bikers, weave through the distraction of civilian traffic and give those pesky, cattle-prod wielding cops the slip!

Quickplay!

Whether you’re looking for some quick and fiery action but don't have the time for picking the best combination for the next event or are just low on Cash but itching to test-drive the new bike you just unlocked—the Quickplay mode will always keep things fresh, exciting and extra-challenging! Play a randomly generated event with a set bike, weapon and power-ups and experience Rude Racers at its unadulterated best!
