What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We believe that great ideas can come from anywhere.

For us, this means taking in feedback and suggestions to make LithoBreak as much of a community creation as possible. LithoBreak has evolved and improved drastically thanks to our fantastic community involvement. We have been delivering new content in the form of mining elements, story content, and new game systems as development continues. This includes implementing multiplayer earlier into the development cycle, adding buildings into episode 2, and countless other additions and tweaks to LithoBreak.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We adhere to a ‘quality takes time’ approach at Tau Ceti Labs. We have 5 Episodes planned to be released months apart from each other for Season 1.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will include the fifth and final episode of Season 1 as well as a refreshed Multiplayer mode with story tie-ins.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently the early access version consists of Episode 1 and Multiplayer (experimental) modes.

The current list of features include:
  • Explore numerous rooms of the space station
  • Professionally voiced characters
  • Mine ceramic materials with unique elemental makeups and engineering properties
  • Sift materials based upon relative densities
  • Produce parts for sites, with quality based upon material properties

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price will periodically increase through the early access period following new episode releases.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are incorporating feedback as development progresses, from the mining mechanics to the station aesthetics.

We actively seek feedback to help refine the experience and incorporate the best ideas. We can be reached directly through Discord ( https://discord.gg/ckftPfH ) or the Steam discussion forum.”

About This Game

LithoBreak brings you 11.4 light years from Earth to the Aristarchus star system (61 Cygni), where tyrannical corporations monopolize deep space. Eli, a rogue inventor and scientist, is driven to restore balance to The Verse by developing novel technologies outside the corporate grasp. Eli, played by you -the player-, strives to deliver control of humanity's future back to the people.

Driven by hope and the will to restore his legacy, Eli (voiced by Sam McMurray) will have to manage and keep together his space station, under threat from both external aggression by Corporate forces and Eli's own explosive experiments.

When his back is against the wall, Eli finds himself aided by SARA (voiced by Julie Ann Emery), a highly illegal and sentient AI recently added to the space station by Eli's oldest and most brilliant friend, Dr Janice Barnes. SARA is both a gift and a refugee, seeking the same goals as Eli and guiding him through until the end.

Play with Science

LithoBreak is a narrative driven simulation game, where you'll have to build, construct, and develop your moon mining operations in order to secure resources to achieve your goals. Use realistic science terminology, replicate proper chemical reactions and experience realistic engineering! LithoBreak aims to please both physics enthusiasts and beginners in an accessible but accurate simulation of what the future of moon mining could look like.

Mine with Engineering

Experience an episodic game as a deep-space moon mining mastermind working on the next big thing.
In LithoBreak, there are hundreds of part types, working in a simulation capable of handling thousand of individual ones across dozens of mining sites.

  • Concentrate chemical substances, and combine them to create materials.
  • Manufacture parts with the materials you processed.
  • Be careful, different materials will make different quality parts.
  • Parts will wear and break down over time.
  • Use higher quality parts to create long lasting components.

Every material processing technology is based upon scientific principles and real process technologies. This includes:

  • Sifting ceramic powder by density,
  • Maintaining elemental conservation.
  • Ensuring a thermitic reaction processes are properly ‘energetic’.

Travel with Orbital Mechanics

Everything in-game, including the station itself, is part of an orbital mechanics simulation.

  • As the station orbits the moon, the moons, planets and stars move as well.
  • Materials needing to be transferred from site to site will also utilize this mechanic to determine movement and travel times.
  • The station was designed with engineering oversight, giving the space the feeling that someday, this could be real.

Explore with Physics (in progress)

LithoBreak will set the player in true-to-life sized moons to explore, with more and more features coming with each episode.
You'll get to explore new moons either on foot or in vehicles, choose the best place and start building your own base (or bases!) on the surface of the moon or in orbit!

Use orbital mechanics to move materials between mining bases and space stations. Make sure every need is taken care of!
