What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is about 25% ready, with the first map finished, and two other maps nearly finished.
The game Mechanics works; things like spells, alchemy and crafting of weapon works.

So I need some real feedback from players, to find bugs.
(I had some guys play it for me, and I learned a lot, but need more feedback.)

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I hope The game will be ready in late August.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“My plan is to have three major quests, and around 10 maps.

Right now there are only a couple of small quests and two maps.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game works, and you can play it for +1 hour, before running out of caves to dive into, NPC's to trade with and quests to complete.
That is if you ignore the magic and alchemy side of the game...”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the Early version is 50% because the game is not finished.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I have achievements, to test if the player can finished quests, and simple tasks like sitting down, sleeping and Row a Boat.
I have made leader-boards, to make players test themselves against each other.
Somebody has made a Fan Discord, which I use to chat with players, about feedback.”

About This Game

An Awesome, Open-World RPG filled with Unique Demons and Powerful Dragons.

Choices Matter in this open-world, single-player RPG, where you can walk different many paths.

You can choose different paths:

A strong Fighter, who wants to go up against powerful Mythological monsters.

The casual Alchemist, collecting plants and crafting potions to sell for gold;

The world Traveler, aiming to visit every dungeon, and find every Secret room.

Or the sneaky Rogue, who hides in the shadows to backstab enemies.

Character customization is key to survival in this game.

A fighter has a very different set of skills than a rogue or a wizard.

A strong, tall orc has a different path to survival than a short, charming halfling.

Here, the Balrog is fighting an orc.

Magic in this game is free and wild…

It features things like crafting:

  • Sword Crafting, where you can create your own sword from 75,000 different combinations.

  • Alchemy Crafting, with over 100,000 possible combinations to make a wide variety of potions.

  • Spell Crafting, with over a million ways to combine spells—from a simple fireball to a lightning storm that covers the whole map.

  • Enchanting: Make your character Unique with his own enchantments on weapons, Armour and Jewellery.

This is the RuneChild RPG.
You can play it casually—taking your time to explore the world and complete quests—or go full hardcore.

There’s also a Fight Arena for players who want to dive straight into the action and face demons, monsters, and dragons with nothing but a simple sword.

Choose between a Fighter, Rogue, or Wizard, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

I love playing open-world RPGs like Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind, as well as exploring Tolkien’s universe. So, I’ve taken the parts I enjoy most from them: the wild magic and alchemy from Morrowind, the bright colors of Oblivion, and Skyrim’s weapon improvements.
