What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“After long and careful consideration, we have decided to launch on early access first (for 60-75 days) for many many reasons. Just to list a few...

- The game is at a stable and releasable point that we feel comfortable releasing it early.

- It would give us a boost of confidence & motivation to finally have it out to the public.

- Most importantly, we want to take the time of final refinement to hopefully incorporate the feedback from our community and fans.

- It would help us in our marketing strategy and release stage phases.

- Finally, this early assess is NOT to raise funds to FINISH development. However, the support we do receive would mean better marketing & localization, and even an early release to consoles!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early access will last 60-75 days until the final version is pushed.
During this time, we will be wrapping up and improving the finer details of the game. None of which will be heavily technical nor mechanics.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“- There will NOT be any additional Stats/Settings/Weapons/Body Parts/Equipment/Levels/Bosses in the full version.

- There will NOT be "new mechanics" to the game, the final version will purely consists of bug fixes, aesthetic refinement (animation, UI, etc, flushing out levels to make them feel more "full", and any additional visual improvement.

- Players WILL be able to carry over save file and progress from the Early Access version to the full version. If there is any reason why this turns out to be a complication that will not be possible, we will inform the community ahead of time and compensate for any inconvenience this specific instance may cause.

- The final version will have a "New Game+" option. This option will allow players to keep every equipment and stat modification done through the ANNEX while resetting everything else. The difficulty will also be slightly increased. This option will also allow the ability to unlock any "additional" missions (possible made by the community). "The New Game+" will have a slightly higher difficulty with some slight alteration to some missions.

- The full version will have additional Missions (up to 5) possibly made by the community that may include additional NOTIFICATION (the in-game "email" base system), additional in-game dialog (possibly not voiced/translated upon release).

To expand on this, the "new" missions will purely be based on design (this could be a custom name and built SD/ST) and dialog (mission name, what is said during mission briefing, mission stats, mission briefer, and NOTIFICATION received after mission). They will NOT host anything that is not already in the Early Access version. Meaning, no new levels, mobs/sub-enemies, equipments. However, ANYTHING could be re-used in these "new" 5 missions, even the final boss, with a "possibility" of newly added music/audio.

- The full version will have more Language options, currently Japanese is scheduled/"in the works".

- More polished and "fuller" levels, polished UI (mainly aesthetic with minor UX changes), more audio and music, polished audio and music, polished visual effects, and possibly minor text dialog/UI alteration.

- The full version may have the option to have 2v2 in the 2-player split screen versus (already in development). This will be a combination of any of the three:
(AI_a+P1 vs. AI_b+P2) / (AI_a+AI_b vs. P1+P2) / (P1 vs. AI_a vs. AI_b vs. P2)
The AI may be chosen upon any encountered from the BATTLE GROUNDS and MISSION.
The AI difficulty can be adjusted.

- There "COULD BE" some stats modification to both Player/AI/Bosses/Other based on the community feedback (ie. if a weapon should shoot faster or a boss needs a major "nerf/boost"). If it is not purely visual/audio it will most likely remain as-is.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is in final BETA state. It is FULLY playable with all the intended content/mechanics, meaning NO locked or hidden features. If it's not there, it's because it simply, more than likely will not be included or has already been announced to be in development for final version, as mentioned in the section "How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?".

Definition of "BETA" state simply means the aesthetics (ie. how "full" a level is), the visuals (ie. lighting, texture, special effects, UI but not so much UX), and audio are all subject to improvement and polish.

So what state are those three aspects in now (Early Access)? (aesthetics, visuals, & audio)
They are "refined and defined" as best we could to push the game out (our main goal was a memorable and engaging-playability-factor rather than a visual-waw-factor).
Some elements will not be "AAA status" (..but close :] ) simply due to time, size, and budget. And we also do not promise it to be-so in the final version but we will do the best we can to deliver the highest quality we can with what we have.

The final version and all of its updates or DLC will be -FREE/INCLUDED AS PART- of the original purchase of the game (either that be early access or final version) for the entire lifetime of the game, "Soul Tech: Millennium".”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game's ORIGINAL price will NOT change from early access to final version apart from discounts (if any). The base price for both early assess and final version have been set at.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community can be involved through Steam forums, our Facebook page, our Twitter page, YouTube, and anywhere else they can find us or we can find them!
We will always welcome feedback and recommendations.
We will post daily updates 5 days a week.
We plan to have live stream once or twice a week (lots of development to do, very little time, but we'll try to be as present to the community as possible)”

About This Game

Inspired by the likes of MechWarrior, Armored Core, Pacific Rim, and more, Soul Tech: Millennium is a fast-paced action packed, story-driven, (none-turn base) 3D mecha - shooter with 2-player split-screen versus.

There are over 40 opponents to face in the 1 on 1 versus Battle Grounds with unique AI scripted tactics, such as our personal favorite, better known as "MAMA ROCK"; She has a personally crafted tactic of getting close quick while flying circles around you, all while lighting you up with her flamethrowers and machine guns.

There is over 50 missions to embark in, some story related, some optional "side-missions", others with strategic large-scale boss battles.

There is a sort of "email" system in the game that helps further drive the story and character development, all with voice overs.
"Give 'em hell" is one of the core game-play mechanics were the player can equip up to 9 weapons and fire them all at the same time, like literally, every face button on a controller shoots something! ..but as it IS, as crazy as-it-sounds, there is the option to map/switch around your main weapons from your sub-weapons.

You have access to over 150 different items to equip, ranging from Energy managing Generators, to Wheel-Legs, to scull crushing Punching arms, to even homing giant missiles that fires more missiles as it slowly fly's to its target before making devastation impact.

You can also customize your Soul Tech's body parts and weapons color individually.
With a nifty added detail to not just RGB values but how "battle worn" you look, to how, well, "polished and shiny" you are. You can also further enhance the stats most important to you with a stat modifier feature. Customization goes beyond your Soul Tech as you can, of course, key bind your controls to your liking - we take it, firing all those weapon won't always be so easy for everyone.
