What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The goal in granting access at this stage is to get information from players on various areas of the game, such as difficulty, functionality, and fun. As development continues, DarkNight-Studio is interested in hearing from players what they love about Escape From Earth and what they don't in order to steer the game into being a fun and challenging.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will be in early access until we feel there is enough content in the game, currently there is a lot more to do. We can’t say an exact time length as we are a small studio and game development is part time at the moment as we both do work on other things. The earliest we are hoping to be out of early access is early march 2021 but this could change.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release version of escape from earth will have 16 unique planets to explore with their own graphics, monster, boss and quest along with a story about the planet. There will be 4+ game modes for you to choose from when you start the game. Also 8 unique aliens to play as and each one will have their own background and story along with a mystery power up. There will be at least 32 bosses these will be a mixture of mini and a big boss.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game currently has 2 modes with more planned for the future. There is a new health system along with ai and challenging puzzles for you to solve and move on to the next level. There are 2 cute little aliens that have their own back story along with their own long-term quest for you to find clues and solve it.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do plan to gradually raise the games price once we add more content to the game and we feel it is a good position to sell, but we will also be getting the community involved in this to and see what they think about it and how much they would pay if a price was introduced.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are planning to do major escape from earth updates every 3 months and in between the major updates we will be releasing small bug fixes along with mini updates adding small amounts of content or structure to get the game ready for major updates we are planning. When it comes to the major updates, we will be holding polls on what they community would like to see picking things from our studio roadmap and then ideas from the community. There will be 2 polls one with studio pick and then one with the community ideas. Then you the players will get a mix of both what we would like and what you the community would like to see. If you would like to leave us feedback you can comment/post it in are Steam Discussion board along with are discord or you can send us a email.”

About This Game

There is currently only 2 out of 8 aliens in Escape From Earth as each one has their own little background story as well as voice acting at some point. They have their own Strengths and Weaknesses and special abilities from extra health to auto collect coins, gems, magnetic field for collecting items and coins

Amber: This alien is a huge Call of Fish player. She loves her online FPS and this one is based underwater and you have a fish gun and stuff.

Ability: TBC

Ilona: Ilona is a cheeky little alien who does not like to listen to orders and this is the reason she is bright green with red polka dots - she played with radioactive materials.
Ability: TBC

There is a total of 16 planets in Escape From Earth. Each planet has its own description and set of unique creatures and enemies along with design and environment and gravy field/force. This will affect when you‘re playing as on some planets you might be able to jump higher or on others you might not jump as high. Some plants might have day and night cycle so the enemies might look friendly and cute in the day but at night they will change and look a little different. There are some planets that are just dark or day all the time.

The game currently has 2 game modes plus two to come in a future update. These game modes are a work in progress so they will be locked until we are ready to release that in coming month. Below is each game mode and a short description of what each mode does.

Free Play: You are not timed in this mode so you can explore the levels and find the hidden stuff or maybe find an Easter Egg or two.

Time Mode: When playing this mode you have a set time to complete the level and if you do not make it in time you will lose some health and the game will restart, sending you back to the start of the level.

Speed Runner: The mode name gives this one away! You have to complete the level as fast as you can. The game will show timings as you go and it will show you at the end of the level too. Plus you can post your times to the game leaderboards.

Death Mode: This mode is a complete mystery nobody knows about it not even the Devs. You will have to unlock it to find out more about it! All we know is this game mode will be very hard...
