What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“There is still a lot we would like to add to MiniGolf Maker, and we want to get the community involved in shaping the game. We also want to ensure the game is well polished, fully featured, and bug-free before making a full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We would like to shoot for not much more than a year in Early Access. Ideally we want our stay in Early Access to be as short as possible.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“There are several major things on our to-do list that we would like to have done before a full release, such as:
  • Multiple Game Modes
  • Additional Course Creator Content
  • Course Creator "Behaviors" and/or "Events" System
  • Modding Support
  • General Polish and Bug Fixes

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version of MiniGolf Maker is fully functional, but is somewhat limited in features and may contain bugs and other issues that have yet to be discovered. You can refer to the About This Game section for a detailed list of currently available features and content. This will be updated as more features and content are added.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the price once the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to involve the community as much as possible in the development process. This includes things like asking players what features they would like to see, suggestions for new content to be added to the Course Creator, things about the game they don't like, and so on. We will be actively using the Steam Discussion boards, and of course one-on-one communication will be available by email at

MiniGolf Maker Update - April 19th, 2019

Hi everyone,

Another update coming at ya!

Coming Soon
Weekly Update Focus
Starting this upcoming week, I would like to have a more specific focus for each weekly update. For example, focus a whole update on several new power-ups, or an update focused around improving a particular part of the game.

Next week's update will be focused on control improvements. This includes:
  • Rebindable Course Creator controls (keyboard and mouse only).
  • Ability to invert mouse camera movement,
  • Change input prompts in the UI based on whether you are using a keyoboard + mouse or controller.
  • Possibly add controller support for managing shared controllers, however this is somewhat dependent on the UI rewrite, detailed below.
UI Behind-the-Scenes Rewrite
Something I have started working on recently is a complete rewrite of our UI system. I decided to do this because, with the UI for the shared controllers in particular, I was seeing some major limitations of the current UI system that was making it difficult to work with. As a player, once the rewrite is complete you won't see much difference aside from some minor visual improvements, but it will bring many behind-the-scenes improvements to the UI.

Changelog - 2019.4.3
  • (Work in Progress) You can now add multiple players to the mouse and keyboard and player one's controller
    • Currently this can only be done via the mouse, I will improve the UI and add controller support for this in a future update.
    • Click the "Add Shared Controller" button in the lobby to add a player.
    • Click on a player in the lobby to remove them (local players only).
  • Black Hole no longer effects balls with the Weight power-up enabled.
  • Moved the lobby chat window to the right side of the screen to be more consistent with the game chat.
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed pipes not working correctly if the Exit Delay is 0.
  • Fixed ball not being hidden in pipe while waiting to exit.
  • Fixed course music not being correct if no music was selected for the course.

MiniGolf Maker - April 12th, 2019

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to post a quick announcement that I am sadly going to be skipping the update this week, as there isn't anything ready to deliver.

With most of the effort concentrated on the Behaviors system (as well as some other potential behind-the-scenes improvements), there hasn't been much time to be able to dedicate to smaller features and bug fixes. There have also been other life things going on that have limited the amount of time I can work on MiniGolf Maker.

Hopefully I can pick up the pace soon and get these updates back to having more content.

- Kevin

About This Game

Build the miniature golf course of your dreams in MiniGolf Maker

Create your course using the Course Creator, one of the most ambitious level editors to ever be created for a miniature golf game.
  • Full control of the shape and size of each piece your greens. No more being bound by a limited number of pre-made pieces!
  • 5 Environments: Medieval, Winter, Pirate, Dreamscape, and Polyworld.
  • Detailed control of the style of your course.

Play locally or online with up to 8-player multiplayer.

Use power-ups to give yourself an edge or get in the way of your friends:
  • Fire – Leaves behind a trail of fire, launching any ball that touches it into the air.
  • Ice – Leaves behind a trail of ice that causes any ball that rolls over it to slip and slide uncontrollably.
  • Bomb– Explodes after a short delay, flinging away any nearby objects.
  • Weight – Makes your ball super heavy, making it immune to fire, ice, and blast effects.
  • Jump – Catapults your ball into the air when used.
  • Brake – Slows your ball down very quickly when used.
  • Rocket – Propels your ball forward for a short time.
  • Black Hole– Sucks in nearby golf balls to their doom.
  • Random – Can give you any of the above Power-Ups

Upload your course to the Steam Workshop and explore courses from other creators!
