What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Lorenzo il Magnifico is a eurogame with lots, and lots, and lots of information, combos and interactions! In order to make it right, and create a game enjoyable for both rookies and connoiseurs, we need to hear the voice of the community.
Feedback from the board game aficionados has been essential in the early development stages of the game, and now that we’re close to its final release, we hope to integrate as many new suggestions as we can.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game is supposed to leave Early Access after two months of production at most. That is a time span long enough to ensure a smooth evaluation and development process. Expect Lorenzo il Magnifico to be released in its final form at the beginning of Q4 2019!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“That depends on how the community will react to the current state of the art! We want to make sure every information and view is conveyed to players as if they were playing the actual board game, and plan to chisel, fix and improve everything that is not.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All features and graphics are there - all that’s left is to polish up the interfaces and, drumroll, introduce the multiplayer game mode.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“After leaving Early Access, the game will be slightly more expensive. After all, we do want to reward everyone who decides to put their trust in our development process!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“BoardGameGeek is our top notch bulletin board, where we discuss with the community about future releases, bug fixing and design ideas. We also have a Trello board, where everyone can follow the game development in its juiciest details.
And of course, we plan to engage people anywhere they feel comfortable - through our social media platforms, through our email, and here on Steam as well!”

HOTFIX #1695

This version was focused on fixing some minor graphic issues that could happen during Work actions (harvests and productions) and Bonus actions (those granted by Assets bought from the Towers).
We're also getting ready for a major rework of the bottom UI, in order to tackle some of the suggestions you posted on BoardGameGeek. Stay tuned!

HOTFIX #1681

In today's hotfix we addressed something largely asked: it is now possible to see Leaders' requirements and effect through a tooltip just hovering on their profiles. Some bugs were also fixed: opening the Player Board does not cause harvests and productions to get stuck anymore, some graphic issues related to Salviati are now working as intended, and minor glitches around have been put in their right places. Enjoy!

About This Game

Florence, the cradle of Italian Renaissance. The city is experiencing an unprecedented economic and cultural flourishing: will your family prevail and control the city?

Lorenzo il Magnifico is a worker placement game, using three dice value to determine the strength of player’s workers.
Each game runs for three eras, and each era runs for two rounds.
During each round, you will move your family members through the narrow streets of Florence to acquire new territories, buildings and heroes, to complete quests or to work in your domains and gain resources. Send them to visit the Market in order to acquire coins, servants, military power or privileges from the city council.
But your clever plan could be screwed up by the Pope!
Each player must pay the required amount of Faith in order to avoid excommunication… or pay a terrible price!

After the sixth round, player tally their victory points and the winner will be the Signore di Firenze!
