Pourquoi choisir l'accès anticipé ?

« Qubes is in Early Access because it's still in an early stage of development. As a full time programmer i don't have that much free time to work on my games, so i decided to work on a working version to release and update over time, to check what people think of it and evolve it based on what i have in mind and what people want. »

Pendant combien de temps environ ce jeu sera-t-il en accès anticipé ?

« I have no idea on when I will reach the full version of the game, mainly because i don't know how much time I will be able to put into the development, even the amount of new features is still undefined. The majority of the features that will be implemented are clear but some might come out and might add more months of work.
My plans are to make it out of early access in maximum 1 year. »

En quoi la version finale sera-t-elle différente de la version en accès anticipé ?

« My plans are adding many more features like: new powerups, new maps, Qube trails, potentially a map creation tool, a vs AI mode, and other things i'm still planning on paper. »

Quel est l'état actuel de la version en accès anticipé ?

« The game is currently playable, but lacks many of the features i have in mind, it currently has only 8 maps and a limited amount of powerups. »

Le prix du jeu sera-t-il différent pendant et après l'accès anticipé ?

« Over the development time the game will see the price increasing with the addition of big features, the price will grow mainly when the game will get out of early access. »

Comment comptez-vous impliquer la communauté dans le processus de développement ?

« By listening to what they think about the game, how they would improve it, what would they add. To keep in touch with the community i'll be using discord, with an official Qubes server ( https://discord.gg/b3cX58K ). »

Introduction

Qubes is an online 1v1 game where fast thinking, speed and focus are at the core of the gameplay experience. Challenge a friend or a random player in a match with a set of randomly generated rules, and remember to use the powerups around the map. Color the majority of the map to win the round. The first player to 3 rounds wins the match!

Gameplay

Two players face each other in an arena where they control a cube, by rolling it around they can color the map tiles with their color. But every certain amount of rolls both cubes turn green and will color the map tiles of green, to then turn back to the original colors (check below for a description of the green function). At the end of a round the player that has colored the majority of the map with his color wins. A round ends when the time runs out or the entire map has been colored.

Two different game modes can be played, the standard one with a dynamic ruleset, or a custom one where players can decide the rules and maintain them for the entire match;

Currently the dynamic rules that can be encountered are the following:

Map type: static or dynamic, this defines if the map after being colored can be recolored by the other player;
Green effect: this rule defines if the green colored tiles will get destroyed or will stay after being colored;
Round length: length of the round expressed in seconds;
Normal rolls: number of rolls each player has to do with their color;
Green rolls: number of rolls each player has to do with the green color;

During a match different powerups can spawn around, each one as a different effect that might affect you or the enemy player, such as:

Row or line colorers: powerups that can color an entire row or column;
Speed modifiers: powerups to speed you up or to speed down the enemy;
Snowflake: powerup to freeze your opponent;
