What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Because we're ready for our players to be part of 30XX's design process!

Player feedback is a critical part of how we build games - we want you to help us make 30XX the best it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It's likely that we're in Early Access for about a year, but that may change as our players help us guide 30XX's future.

Even after Early Access, we intend to continue building on 30XX with additional content & support.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to include at least three more level themes in 30XX's 1.0 release - two more to round out the "main 8" level themes that form the core of every run, and at least one finale stage type (very likely more than one).

Over the course of Early Access, we plan to release levels 7 and 8 that'll be woven in with the existing 6 level types to form each run. Once we're ready to leave Early Access and move to 1.0, we plan to release the game's finale levels & full ending.

Shortly after our Early Access release, we'll be adding Leaderboard play featuring seeded daily and weekly runs, so you can compete with your friends.

We'll also be adding much more in the way of items, powerups, and systems for the player to interact with & discover in each run.

Finally, we don't consider the game to be in a "1.0" sort of state until it's mostly bug free.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“30XX's Early Access build contains 6 of the "main sequence" 8 stage themes - the other two will be added during EA.

It contains the game's classic Standard roguelite mode, as well as a new "Mega" Mode, which still generates a unique playthrough of the game, but dying only returns you to the start of that stage.

Both of these modes are playable solo, in local co-op play, or online. During Early Access, we intend to iron out the bugs with 30XX's netcode - we expect it to be fully functional for most players at launch, but players experiencing issues can try Remote Play Together, which works well if you have a solid connection to your partner.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We intend to raise the price during Early Access at some point during development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our community's a critical part of our design process. We take the player-dev relationship very seriously - we read every post and every email we get, and we're listening carefully both for things the community as a whole wants, and individual suggestions we get that just sound like great ideas.

Community feedback is an essential tool for polishing our games into the best games they can be!”

About This Game

The Year is...

30XX combines the crisp controls and fluid movement you love from action platformers like Mega Man X, the replayability of a modern Roguelike (Binding of Isaac, Enter the Gungeon, Dead Cells, etc) and co-op play into a single gorgeous package.

Awaken a thousand years after 20XX to realize the world that needed you is gone, changed irreversibly by the advent of the Synthetic Mind and a human race that's lost the will to reach for the stars. Explore the lush, verdant prison our world has become, and fight to save what remains.

Rise. Fight. Fall. Adapt. There's a sublime meaning in this endless cycle, somewhere, buried deep.

Features:

  • Pulse-pounding action, precise platforming, and beautiful spritework
  • Characters with fully distinct playstyles - master Ace's swift, combo-friendly Techniques and Nina's intricate Power Fusion system for even more replayability
  • A fresh new set of levels, items, and powers every time you play - 30XX is never the same game twice!
  • Roguelike-style progression that lets you tune the game's systems and difficulty as you play, even after you win
  • A robust level editor - the same tools the developers use! - that lets you build single level chunks or entire custom campaigns
  • Local and online multiplayer, so you can enjoy 30XX with a friend
