Miksi Early Access?

The core of Markerboard Jungle: Frogs is built and at a fun playable stage, so we'd now benefit greatly from player feedback to help guide its development moving forward. Our main goals with the Early Access phase are to make game updates available for playing right away, to learn from players what they enjoy about it, what changes they'd like to see, and to improve awareness of the world of Markerboard Jungle with regular postings about the Frogs and their development.

We will officially launch as soon as all of the major features are in the game. Our approach is "slow and steady" towards completing the Early Access phase, with no more than a few months between each game update. After launch we fully intend to continue improving and expanding on the game with bug fixes and content updates.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

The full version will have additional characters, biomes, hazards, challenges and other gameplay. There will be a complete Story mode to play through, as well as a Sandbox, both with plenty of content. We'll be paying close attention throughout the Early Access phase to player reactions and testing results from devices such as the Steam Deck and a variety of controllers, and other feedback. Additionally we aim to include educational information and activities, that can increase the excitement of the game and provide unusual windows into the real world.

Playable features in Early Access currently include:

• A survival and exploration game as a Frog. Help your frogs grow and thrive as they discover helpful friends and face deadly foes.
  
• Drawing with a Marker to interact further with the local habitat.
  
• A Campaign Map represented by a globe of the Earth, with information layers that show game progress, goals and other data.
  
• Play Mode - Chapter 01 of an action-adventure story that visits frog-friendly ecosystems around the world.
  
• Frog Facts and Tadpole Trivia to read as you play.
  
• Biomes currently include Woodlands, Peat Bog, and Ponds.
  
• Frog Food: Beetles, Crickets, Houseflys, and Slugs are all on the menu, with more options soon.
  
• Polliwog Food: Green Algae is now available, quite delicious.

Our plan is to involve the game forums, our social media, email and other DM methods frequently, keep the dialogue open and respond as quickly as we can. We plan to regularly post in the game forums, on our social media, on the official game website, and on the Steam store page about the game status and what will be arriving soon in future updates. Additionally we'll be continuing to invite friends and family for feedback, with results included in our posts to help keep players involved in the entire process.
