About This Game

Tabletop Fantasy War is a turn-based strategy game set in the fantasy world of Korsak, a world created entirely by a child during his time making his dream tabletop game.

Inspired by classic tabletop games, in Tabletop Fantasy War, the first step is to create and customize your unit groups in the unit room. There are different factions you can play with. Each faction has units with different abilities and stats, and a completely different in-game research tree. Each game takes place on hexagonal-based battlefields. You start with a fixed amount of points to deploy different unit groups onto the battlefield. When all players have deployed their unit groups, the game begins. You command your unit groups with different actions: moving across different terrains, arranging them in unique formations, using offensive or support abilities, and engaging in combat with opposing groups.

The gameplay is based on two main game mechanics: engaging opposing groups and guard. Bring your groups close to opposing groups to enter in an "engage" state. Groups in the engaged state have restrictions, and they cannot flee freely. If they flee, the opponent will automatically attack them. On the other hand, guard is a group formation that puts your group in sentry mode. Any opponent that crosses its line of sight will be automatically attacked. Most special unit abilities and benefits are based on supporting or countering these game mechanics.

Multiplayer mode (available for the demo) takes your army to different battlefields set in various areas of Korsak to play skirmishes against the AI or other human players in online or split-screen mode.

The single-player or campaign mode takes you to the fantasy world of Korsak. Playing as one of the factions, you will immerse yourself in the search for "the source". You will play on different battlefields with unique objectives and victory conditions. You will advance through the world via different paths and possible endings. You will learn about the story of the child and his accompanying friend who plays the tabletop game with him. Unraveling one mystery after another. Listening to the voices of the children. Imprecise, fading voices. You will experience events that will make you question what is real and what is fantasy.

The campaign will open up a much more complex system for creating and customizing your unit groups. There will be battle rewards, unique abilities and units to unlock, and many more options to make your experience as the creator and commander of your unit groups much more personal and tied to your performance on the battlefield.

And that's how it begins in Tabletop Fantasy War... you hold the Master's book and slowly, hesitantly... you open it...

"Aarbar, the travelers." are the first words written in simple, uneven handwriting, as if written by a child. "A nomadic civilization. Travelers of the vast universe. Seekers of ‘the source’. They have been exploring the universe since its inception. Invading worlds and extracting their energy. They are great fighters. Feared in melee combat..." Part of the page has been erased. Tables with unintelligible numbers are visible. Blurred drawings of warriors and some kind of spells.

"Corx, the host." is written on the next page. "Defenders of the world. Producers of energy. Protectors of ‘the source’. A traditional but very ambitious civilization. They are wise strategists, known for their stealth and ambushes with ranged soldiers." More blurred drawings and erased texts.

The next page is visible but many words are written in an unknown language. "???, the ??? civilization."

Nothing more...
