About This Game

This is a Steam store page description for a game.

It’s a pixel art platformer with a lo-fi aesthetic.

Immerse yourself in a nostalgic, Y2K-style scene, playing a pogo-stick game in the rain.

Some players say that this kind of rage game is only played by streamers for their live audiences.

But my original idea for making this game actually came from a few years ago when I was learning how to swim.

I realized that when you’ve just learned to swim, you have to be completely focused.

This state of total concentration—born from the fear of choking and the need to maintain balance—is itself a huge source of fun.

In this noisy era, focus has become a luxury.

The game’s controls are simple. Hold down the spacebar when falling, release it when rising.

Sounds easy, but I faced the same dilemma as the creator of Getting Over It.

I couldn’t make the controls simple.

Learning a new, counterintuitive control scheme is hard.

The difficulty, the satisfaction, and the level design that comes with it—

It feels like it already existed somewhere, like it’s part of the rules of the universe.

I just happened to discover it and tried to dig it out in its entirety.

The gameplay emerged naturally; it wasn’t something I designed.

Even as the i am creator, now so Skilled with it,

if I don’t play with full focus, I still get utterly destroyed.

Games like this often don’t have much replay value after the first playthrough, except for speedrunners.

I wanted to change that.

To keep the excitement of the first playthrough alive when revisiting the game,

I added a coin collection mechanic. A fall from too high will make you lose all your coins.

This means if you want to take your coins all the way to the top to double them, you can’t afford a single major mistake!

I once read an analysis article that said, in an era where the framework of classic games has been nearly exhausted,

all the classic elements have been remixed in every possible way.

Visuals and content can’t compete with AAA titles.

So what’s left for indie developers to explore?

The article suggested that the key lies in satisfying desires that haven’t been met yet.

So, what desires are left?

That’s when I decided to add a gacha feature—a desire I’ve never had fulfilled.

It’s always been about being stingy with resources. Grinding daily check-ins for weeks,

only to burn through everything in a few pulls, too afraid to spend real money chasing dreams—especially since someone unlucky like me would probably just hit the pity system anyway.

This mechanic fits perfectly with the coin collection system.

So here, if you play well, you can easily “graduate” (get all the characters/items) without spending a dime.

It also serves as a showcase for NPC character art.

Think of it as a bonus feature—it doesn’t affect the core gameplay.

So, I’ve upgraded this kind of game. I’ve completed it.

It’s right there now—this gameplay has been realized.

The simple logic of “the higher you jump, the higher you bounce”—

A fantasy that once only existed in my mind has now been brought to life.

That game is out there now, ready to be played!

About AI:

I really love using AI to generate and edit images. It lets me satisfy some weird niche interests and also provides素材 for NPCs.

Whenever I run into a programming diffclut, I start working on image editing. Doing this, for me, is very stress-relieving.

The employees and interns at 12 Corp are equipped with military-grade pogo sticks and powered exoskeletons,

training with full dedication—all to land the most perfect, precise arc.

I know a lot of people still might not accept this. But I feel that if this game didn’t have these NPCs,

even though it wouldn’t affect the core jumping gameplay at all, the highs and lows would lose a lot of funnly and character.

Of course, the choice is still yours.
