My people rose up against me and forced me to become an Autocracy...

The public gave me complete power over them...

Love it

As I'm looking forward to the release of Civ VI I'd like to leave a review for one of my favourite 4X franchise of all time.

Back in the day, Civ V had rought start. I couldn't really point what it was but I felt there's something missing in the game. I mean, the early age was fun. I welcome the switch from a single death stack of doom to one unit per hex. But still, mid to late game was rather boring.

Then the first expansion came to fix the mid game with religion, and the second one after to fix the late game with tourism and a bunch of other stuff. Right now, Civ V is a complete game. Totally fun from the start right to the finish line. The addition of steam workshop extended the already high replayability game further. Not to mention the really well made DLC of all the nations and maps. With the current pricing, especially with a huge discount that often given, you could never go wrong buying this.

It's been a while since I last booted the game. But looking back to those hours spent. I've had fond memories of being ganged up, backstabbed, forward settled, nuked, etc.

Good memories.

Razed down 5 Iroquois Civ's cities. Got offered another 8 cities to end the war.
1 turn later: "Casimir III has become a nuisance. One that can only be dealth with
through war. I seek allies - can I count you among them?" 10 out of 10 would raze again.

An all around fantastic game I have played this game into the ground. Great replay value with plenty of mods to keep you going.

Lots of options in how you pursue victory each game, offers high replayability.
Smooth flow to the game, eases you into complex tactics.
Clean and clear UI and graphics allow make the game look good and easy to navigate.
Well fleshed out victory conditions.
Easy to learn, difficult to master.
In general a very fun game to play if you enjoy turn based strat.
390+ hours of gameplay and only several bugs have been encountered.

The game runs smoothly, has small but noticable issues with multiplater.
The game is designed better as single player, however playing with friends is a lot of fun.
Several small oversights that could have been changed with patches but were never touched.

The game is only good with at least gods and kings expansion.
Multiplayer is needs to be reworked.
Part of a series which means the game will no longer recive updates.

Civilization V is a fantastic and complex turn-based strategy game. With a decent choice of leaders from various eras, multiple map types/sizes and 8 difficulties you may build the greatest empire and conquer the world. This game suits different play-styles as you can win by multifarious ways like propagating violence or, for instance, by spreading your culture across the globe. Each civilization has its own benefits and a cultural affinity with buildings or military. Its immersive atmosphere formed by splendid soundtracks and pretty visuals will surely take away multiple hours from your life shortly afterwards. However, if you're looking for a realistic simulation, don't bother getting this game since Gandhi sure wasn't nuking Germany in 1997 while France was building a Great Wall of China to repel American cavalry siege.

Overall, a very addicting game which I got for free and even doubted if I should try it. I can now firmly state that it's amazing and would even suggest it to players who aren't into strategy games like me.

This game is a timeless strategy classic! I've played countless hours on this copy and on friends computers before purchasing for myself. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who already plays strategy based games or anyone looking at getting into it, as the tutorials and scenarios can really develop the skills of those both new and old to the genre. A solid 10/10 game that I would pay for again!

12 hours in and I have tried and tried to make civs and have failed multiple times! But now I found my perfect civ! Great trade routes, 30 gold coins and friends with almos all civs except Ghenghis Khan!

If you don't have any other games to play, get this one! The best time-waster in the world besides Reddit!

Gameplay: 10/10

1. Found a city
2. Get a bunch of techs
3. Declare war with Spain
4. Austria declares war on you now
5. You realize they each have already destroyed a country
6. You also realize that they have a better military and more land
7. Make sure the AI don't get as strategic as you
8. You make a run for the hills

I played Civ 2, 3, 4, and 5, they're all great games.
