Universe Sandbox ², the long awaited sequel, is now available on Steam

Universe Sandbox ² is now available now on Steam:

Universe Sandbox ² is in alpha and very much unfinished, but it already blows away the original version with improved physics, climate simulations, material properties, terraforming, and awesome collisions.

We welcome you to join us on this journey as we continue to add and improve the sequel into the future!

“This is where Universe Sandbox succeeds brilliantly: players experience godly power to create or destroy, while almost unavoidably learning something about the physical properties of our universe.”
87/100 – PC Gamer

“Using the vast range of variables and tools at your disposal you can create some enormously convoluted displays of physics, bending cosmic laws to your will...”

Universe Sandbox ² Now Avaliable

Universe Sandbox, originally released in 2008 and on Steam in 2011, is no longer in development. We encourage you to check out our long awated sequel, Universe Sandbox ², now on Steam Early Access!

Create and destroy on a scale you've never imagined with the ultimate space simulator.

Harness the power to create black holes, collide galaxies, and manipulate gravity with just a few clicks. Inspired by the software astronomers use to unlock the mysteries of our universe, never before has astronomy been so interactive or so much fun.

Spawn a massive moon to tear apart Saturn’s rings or launch a rogue star to rip the planets from their orbits around our sun. After unleashing catastrophic destruction, create your own solar system and share it with friends.

I created a sun and a earth orbiting it. I moved away from it by a bit and put down a tea cup and made some golf balls orbit it. I made a giant moon that the tea cup then orbited but then the moon went insane and ate the tea cup and my golf balls and then headed straight towards my sun and earth. I then quickly made the earth giant but it turned into a sun and ate the rest of my universe. 10/10 would cause the implosion of the universe again.

This is so cool. Just create and see what happens and then try again until you get the right balance to make your own solar system. Or you can just load up our solar system, set it at a speed you like and just zen out and watch it like a lava lamp. The achievements are amusing too. There is a lot to take in at first but it works really well for this sandbox simulation. Every time you click a button to see what it does you get to see something really interesting happen. 100% recommended.

Turns out if Mercury were half as massive as the Sun, they'd do a little dance with each other across the solar system, obliterating everything in their path and sending Earth hurtling into the frozen abyss.
10/10 will make important scientific discoveries again.
