What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Rise of Industry is a deep strategic tycoon game which focuses heavily on production and town interaction. It's a lot of fun right now, but we need your feedback and ideas to help improve and enhance the game. Feedback already gathered means that we can deliver a very stable build with a host of exciting and enjoyable features.

PLEASE NOTE: Rise of Industry is an incomplete game and is currently under development.

With Early Access we will make it even better and we will work very closely with the community to improve the game as much as possible.

We want to make the best and most enjoyable experience possible, and that is not possible if we are in a vacuumed environment. We want to place the game in Early Access at an early stage, so we can get constant feedback and suggestions so that we can deliver the game that you deserve.

We’ve already been working hard on the game and we want it to become a modern classic. Your valued feedback in Early Access will ensure that we make this a reality.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our plan is for a Q3-Q4 2018 full release, but expect big updates on a regular basis, with new content and features, plus a lot of bug fixes. You will be kept fully up-to-date should anything change and it will always be for the good of the game - we won’t rush the game for financial reasons - that’s not what we’re about.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will have a lot more products to be produced, more factories, more gatherers, new events, bigger maps, pollution, an enhanced tutorial, map creation plus much much more. Modding support will also be added so you can customise and create almost anything in the game to suit your playstyle. The game will also be fully balanced & polished on full release.

Only English language is available at the moment but French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian and Simplified Chinese will all be added before full release.

You can take a look at the road map for an idea of everything that is planned from now until full release: http://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/7849cf_ab8f45d15e964ac296cda188c40cd55c.pdf

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is perfectly stable, and constantly evolving. You can build your empire with gatherers, factories and infrastructure. Arrange trade by road, rail, sea or sky, and react swiftly as the economy continuously shifts. The campaign mode will offer you a structured challenge, while contracts and events will keep you on your toes.

With all the planned additions, it will feel a totally new experience every couple of months.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“During Early Access, the game will be priced lower to gain a wide amount of feedback with the price going up on full release. We want as much quality feedback as possible so we can make the full release as good as it can be.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have always thought that community involvement is key as we strive to develop the best game possible. All ideas and feedback will be genuinely considered and any changes will reflect what the community wants from the game. No matter if the community is big or small, we’ll try to read every comment, email, thread and video you guys make, so together we can take this awesome game to new heights!”

5.1 is out and OMG so many changes!

9 people and 56 energy drinks later, we present to you patch 0.5.1!

Want to start by saying that we've personally have been checking every single review, thread, tweet and let's play to gather as much feedback as possible to make this first patch a clear message about how we intend to develop this game. We are always watching and reading, as we believe Early Access is about developer and player interaction, so there can be a strong exchange of thoughts and feedback to improve. If not, what's the point? Sell a few copies and run? Nah...

We're here to resurrect our childhood love: Industry Giant, and bring it to this decade. For that, we need your help, so keep those threads and videos coming! Of course, we would like to make all of the changes now, but bear with us, some take longer than others. Throughout Early Access (and after full release where necessary) we will keep tweaking and improving the overall gameplay experience.

But for now, please sit back and check out these changes (especially in the new wholesalers and tech tree changes), as a lot might change the way you have to play.

Now need to sleep for 3 or 4 days straight. Enjoy the weekend!

Note: this patch will break your saves. If you want to continue on patch 5.0, I created a beta branch just for you! (might have to restart Steam to see it) http://prntscr.com/ifouaz

“It is not often that we walk out of a Gamescom meeting saying “Wow!”, but we did with Rise of Industry. We saw amazing depth and equally amazing performance and some really clever and fun ideas.”
Hooked Gamers

“Rise of Industry features just enough realistic detail to making zooming on my little towns a joy, and just enough abstraction that I never lost sight of how all my trade routes and harvesting operations fit together. It's beautiful.”
PC Gamer

“This is exactly how an Early Access release should be handled.”

About This Game

Rise of Industry is a strategic tycoon game that puts you in the shoes of an early 20th-century industrialist. Build and manage your growing empire in a living, breathing, and procedurally generated world that is constantly evolving and adapting to your playstyle.

As a budding entrepreneur, you will build factories, construct efficient transport lines, move raw materials, produce finished goods, and arrange trade with the world's developing cities, providing them with the resources they need to flourish - for as they grow and prosper, so do you.

Designed with an eye towards both accessibility and depth, Rise of Industry has enough strategic complexity and replayability to satisfy the most experienced fans of the genre, while its simple-to-understand mechanics ensure that new players will love it as well.

  • Build and manage a solid transportation network to enable the efficient transfer of goods via plentiful trucks, speedy trains and high capacity airships.
  • Be prepared for fierce competition – Advanced town and city A.I., make for an intelligent and changing game world so you won’t be the only one looking for the best deal.
