What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“TinkerQuarry has been in development since May of 2015, but still requires major work before it will be considered finished. Currently, EA will provide interested players with a free current version of the game in order to recieve user feedback as the game grows.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This game may very well be in Early Access for another year or two based on the programmer's available time and resources. It is currently around 50% finished in terms of story and working assets.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“TinkerQuarry will publish its base 1.0 version ASAP, with many probable changes to the look and feel of the game beforehand. The final version will include reworked artwork (character sprites, character cut scenes, and certain map textures tweaked), up to 5 different endings based on user choices and interactions (with one truly "good" and one completely "bad" ending), additions or changes to the Soundtrack (A mixture of surreal tones and classical theater music), as well as possible achievement integration.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“This current build contains: Various Completed map segments, custom music + artwork, and -1~2 hours worth of gameplay.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Prices are subject to change.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“User review and imput will play a vital role in the direction of this project.”

RPGMaker2003 Update Complications FYI

This is just a note that a recent integral change in the RPGMaker2003 engine (specifically how the engine deals with images) has messed with some picture displays in game (specifically "cutscene" images). I will need to manually go through the next update to fix these issues before pushing it to the public branch.

The current patch still works fine, so you all will not experience this problem. But this engine update has created a minor setback for development. I will keep you all updated on the Discord.

Thank you all for your patience, the ETA will be updated with a proper date as soon as this issue is resolved.

Upcoming Version 0.3.7

ETA: To Be Announced

(Recently moved, expect infrequent updates for a while, but here are my plans:)

Major Changes:
-Raffle Characters added (Custom stories items and puzzles!)
-More story progression
-All Essences (excluding Courage) are now optional to pick up.

Minor changes:
-More bugfixes
-Adjustments to teleports so leaving rooms is easier

Current saves should be retained per-computer.
HOWEVER, (in the rare case that it is not....

Safe to carry over older version save file?
-Go ahead. (Though you will be missing some bits)

How do I save my current save file to use it in an upcoming update?
-Go to the TinkerQuarry Steam folder and locate each file that says "save". Copy these to a separate folder and carry them back over to the new version once it updates. Until Steam Cloud is implemented, all saves will be wiped from the Steam Folder, so it is recommended to save them elsewhere if the next version is compatible.

The details in this post may be updated and are subject to change. Thank you for all your help, and don't stop giving feedback if you find an issue!

About This Game

Waking up in a strange room within an ethereal dollhouse, a young girl must travel with her rabbit companion to escape the confines of the rat and "Tinker" infested halls. By exploring each floor, they will be tasked with puzzles and strange etchings, hostile and amiable sentient toys, and vicious creatures... All the while being stalked by the being known as "Stayawhile", aiming to trap not only the duo, but everything existing in his world.

DISCLAIMER: This game is in Early Access and will receive many updates and improvements based on prior planning and user review. Players should expect possible additions as well as various technical and artistic changes as the RPG is developed.

Story-wise, the game is around 50% completed with 1~2 hours worth of gameplay and content. This is NOT a full release just yet.

Special thanks to musicians Julia Harkin and Antriksh Bali for providing custom compositions!

-f5 will open window settings, even outside the main menu
-Downloading and installing the fonts msgothic and msmincho will aid in text readability. They both can be found in the game's folder and just need a quick click to install.
-Steam Cloud feature is currently not implemented due to possible Event and string changes. Therefore, it is encouraged to go to the TinkerQuarry folder on your computer to backup saves to a separate folder on your desktop when switching between PCs if you would like to test each update's new features with prior progress. Simply drag your save into where it was once the update has concluded.
-Upcoming major updates will be warned before launch on DISCORD and on the NEWS tab in the Community Hub. If you want to know when to backup your saves, please check either of those sources.
