Update #37 version 1.0.1

Hello, hackers!

Well, it has been a rather long full moon night!
After 8 days, the moonlight event is over and so is launch week!
Don't be sad, we have many seasonal events in stock. And if you didn't get to unlock one of the special items, there is still a minor chance to randomly find one in a safe.

So let's get down to business: the update. Many players have joined us this past weekend (hey there, welcome!) which has had the logical and yet annoying consequence to uncover some types of connection and configuration our online code wasn't quite dealing with properly. Thanks to your reports, our small but valiant team has been solving new issues every day. Here are today's fixes and improvements:

Patch-note: update #37 - version 1.0.1

  • Fix: Players with the same local IP won't be disconnected anymore while connecting together.
  • Fix: To prevent progression loss after losing connection, there is now an automatic reconnection system to save the player state.
  • Fix: When the guards are on seek state, they are now alerted by footsteps sounds.
  • Fix: You can now slam a door in a guard's face when he is in chase mode.
  • Fix: The hacker can now open every jail door with the "Free your partner" mini-game. (it wasn't always triggered properly.)
  • Fix: You can now increase the sensitivity of the hacker "guide" to assist you in moving and avoid unwanted moves. (see the options menu)
  • You now unlock a "grey hat' skin when you finish your story as a grey hat hacker.
  • Fix: Blocking bug of the hacker that couldn't be liberated from an IDS is fixed.
  • Fix: The Mainframe raid objective bar is now correctly placed in every case.
  • Fix: Previously selected skills are now always kept in memory before starting a new mission.
  • Fix: The agent is not able to accidentally interrupt the "avoid the lasers mini-games" of the hacker by entering into another room.
  • Fix: The "halo mini-game feedback" is now always visible (it wasn't always the case after switching roles).
  • Fix: Some UI issues with misplaced elements in wide screen resolutions have been fixed.

(NB: since I wanted to avoid spamming you with 2 many patch notes, you'll find here the list of the patches merged in one, it includes today's version 1.0.1 and also 1.0.0f7 pushed on Feb 20th.)

Alright that's it for today, see you soon hackers!

Update #36 version 1.0.0f6

Hello hackers!

I hope you had a great weekend playing Hacktag during its launch week.
Some of you reported us a bunch of blocking bugs during the weekend and I am glad to report they were patched today.

Here is a short patch note to list the fixes we just published.

Patch-note: update #36 - version 1.0.0f6
  • Fix: Blocking bug with the hacker getting caught and stuck on some IDS jail.
  • Fix: Pressing Return key is now working on every panel (ex: do you really want to quit?)
  • Fix: Previously selected skills are now always kept in memory before starting a new mission.
  • Fix: Blocking bug after retrying the same level that leads to a black screen is now fixed.

Known issues that will be soon fixed:
  • Character progression loss: the issue has been fixed, but it requires us to shut off the servers for a few minutes, so we will do it in the coming hours.
  • Some accounts may have temporarily lost their characters but it will go back very shortly, thank you for your patience.
  • Some achievements can't be unlocked when playing online (" Training montage is over", "Snaaaaaake"!, "I am hackerman").

That's it for today. We will, of course, keep updating the game this week so feel free to report issues, or just come and say hi on Hacktag's Discord. Thank you!

Lunar Steam sales are over, but Hacktag launch week is still on!

The Steam lunar sales just closed. But Players can still get Hacktag with a -25% discount and unlock the Moonlight special customization element. So if you know a friend who might enjoy the game, or if you'd like to change it up and try a new partner, this is your chance!
The launch week discount will end Wednesday, February 21st.

    See you soon!

About This Game

Hacktag is a 2-player co-op stealth-game with an asymmetric gameplay.

Play as the stealth Agent in the field or as the Hacker, virtually infiltrating and cooperating to fulfill industrial espionage missions to take down corporations.

In 2029, in a parallel world inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, you are a mercenary who secretly accomplishes missions for corporations struggling for leadership. To succeed you will have to team-up with a partner and infiltrate corporations simultaneously in two ways:

  • As the stealth Agent, moving through corporate buildings with an isometric 3D view and fast, arcade-style infiltration gameplay.

  • Or as the Hacker virtually infiltrating the same level with a different view—see the world through holographic blueprint vision and move through a virtual network to interact with the cameras, doors, phones or even coffee machines…

The whole Hacktag experience is designed to make the players feel like they are the heroes in a spy or heist movie.
    • Online and local multiplayer: Play separately or share the same screen.
    • Single player: Simultaneously handle the dual roles of the agent and the hacker in frantic, fast-paced gameplay.
    • Original asymmetrical gameplay and co-op mini-games: With the timer ticking, deactivate alarms and unlock doors or holding cells.
    • "Co-opetitive" gameplay: As mercenaries, your partner is also your best competitor!
    • 24 levels in 3 corporations and playable in 3 types of missions.
    • Gain experience and add unlockable skills: Choose new active or passive skills as you gain levels.
    • Online challenges, ranking and leaderboards:
    • Full character creation: Customize your anthropomorphic animal character with more than 360 unlockable items.
    • Unique story for each player: Experience Hacktag’s story with each role getting its own unique NPCs.
