Warhammer: Treasure of the Old World

The 'Warhammer: Treasure of the Old World' is now available for purchase. Filled with thirteen Dota 2 Workshop selections that follow the visual themes of Games Workshop's Warhammer Fantasy Battle universe, this treasure contains new item sets for Necrophos, Kunkka, Doom, Disruptor, Beastmaster, Centaur Warrunner, Alchemist, Gyrocopter, Sniper, Broodmother, Pudge, Winter Wyvern, and Axe. With the similar aesthetic spirit shared between the Dota and Warhammer universes, these new additions from the Dota 2 Community will look right at home in the blood-soaked lanes of the battlefield.

As a special bonus, if you pre-purchased Total War: WARHAMMER on Steam prior to May 24, you will also find a special version of this treasure in your Dota 2 Armory that contains visually-unique pre-purchase-only versions of the item sets.

Thank you to all of the Dota 2 Workshop artists who submitted designs for consideration. The number of quality submissions could not be contained within a single treasure, and we hope to add more of these sets in the future.

About This Game

Dota is a competitive game of action and strategy, played both professionally and casually by millions of passionate fans worldwide. Players pick from a pool of over a hundred heroes, forming two teams of five players. Radiant heroes then battle their Dire counterparts to control a gorgeous fantasy landscape, waging campaigns of cunning, stealth, and outright warfare.

Irresistibly colorful on the surface, Dota is a game of infinite depth and complexity. Every hero has an array of skills and abilities that combine with the skills of their allies in unexpected ways, to ensure that no game is ever remotely alike. This is one of the reasons that the Dota phenomenon has continued to grow. Originating as a fan-made Warcraft 3 modification, Dota was an instant underground hit. After coming to Valve, the original community developers have bridged the gap to a more inclusive audience, so that the rest of the world can experience the same core gameplay, but with the level of polish that only Valve can provide.

Get a taste of the game that has enthralled millions.

Dota 2 is one of the most spectacular MOBA games ever. It went through a lot of changes and updates. When I start playing Defence of the Ancient it wasn't that much donation and sets. But what we see now? The amount of sets is too damn high, the creators just makin' money, you can't even define the character by some of it's stuff. Also, sin not to mention the community. It is smth terrible and disgusting, I played only 50 games out of 1100 without trash talking about me and my relatives. Just think about it, is it normal? Dota 2 literally is like narcotic, you should pass a long way to stop playing it. I wasted 1,118.4 hours in the shuffle. It is the biggest regret in my life 'till now. Take thought, does this stupid game worth your own time, money and nerves? I don't think so and that's why I don't recommend this game to any of YOU!

I really love this game, and if you like moba then you should try it, the gameplay should not be hard to understand, a big map divided into three routes (Top, Mid and Bot), two teams of 5 players (5vs5), many heroes with different ability and tasks (support, carry, tank), the goal of the teams is to reach the enemy base by destroying enemy tower and minions, there are lots of mechanical and things to learn but it'svery simple if you take time to read a guide or/and play the tutorial.
one suggestion is to not get depressed by elitist person who will tell you things like: F**k you, your dad, F***ing SS! etc. because there are lot of people like that.
however, in my opinion what makes dota different from other moba is the tactics / strategies usable, well balanced (recently I've some doubt xD), based heavily on skills, a lot of heroes to choose to play and have fun with, totally free and frequently updated.
one of the biggest problems I found is communication, for example when you select EU server and English language, the game start and is most of time like..
Me: Hello guys ^^
Team:привет друг
Team:merhaba arkadaşım
Team:Hola amiga
Team:朋友你好

Don't do it. There was a study where monkeys could have some juice at set intervals by pressing 1 button, or could press a different button and gamble on no juice or a big shot of it. Something like 80% of the monkeys gambled consistently. And it was rigged to be less on average than the set interval juice.

This is DOTA. The game is glitchy, has an incredibly steep learning curve (read: you must learn to play most characters in order to be decent at one character), takes an hour or more per game (you cannot leave or get punished), has a toxic community, and is terribly imbalanced. You cannot win by yourself, you need a team. That's 4 strangers for most of us without DOTA friends.

You work at learning the game, read guides, watch videos, learn to not suck, and then you need 4 other people like yourself willing to sacrifice for the common good of the team. This is where we gamble on that big shot of juice. 90% of the games you play will have a clueless player that can and WILL cost your team any chance of winning, and then the toxic players start going nuts for the next 59 minutes of your life... and you CANNOT leave. You cannot surrender in this game. You cannot go AFK (same as leaving).

You will get kicked in the nuts 9 games out of 10, but when that magical game happens, it's a rush.

The DEVs do not care, they work on pumping out skins that sell for money. They don't fix problems, they don't care about imbalances, they don't improve the matchmaking service (try googling "DOTA 2 The Trench" and see what I mean).

This game is like bad meth. You assume it is you that just needs to get better or learn a trick to suddenly win 1v5. This is not the case. You poison yourself with all the money grubbing from the DEVs and the toxic players screaming that they had sex with your mom and that you like boys.

I worked at this game to get good even as my more intelligent friends got tired of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t of this game and moved on. I can win most games with these skills I've "accomplished". But, hours and hours into this, I realize that I'm playing with a bunch of a$sholes and winning the game is empty. A victory is mostly decided by who got the randomly assigned noob/rager/troll/feeder/idiot.

This game was set up as a mod. Clunky, imbalanced, but functioning mod that was fun in its novelty. And most of the problems have been grandfathered into the new version, as that is what people have grown to expect, like a pair of worn-out but familiar shoes.

Do not join MOBAs if you are reading this. The idea is fun, but the execution is brutally painful. Read others who have sunk hours upon hours into this game only to realize how draining and hollow it is.

It is poison. Walk away and know that this game sucks your life and money, leaving you unhappy at playing it, but sadly addicted to it for that ultra rare rush of a good fight.

P.S. I'm giving my items away. I have a ton. Thumbs up and a positive comment, and I'll gift you some (I'm giving it all away anyway, so I'd rather give some to the greedy players who help me save the new people and push them away from DOTA)

Game so good...
But if you do not have a team or a premade, it's an adventure into the hell of feeders, toxic people and noobs. Communication is one of the most important factors in addition to the tactics and strategies.
+Different types of heroes.
+Various types of game.
+Excellent graphics setting.
+Wombo combo
-Do not play Russian server, many toxic people.

50+% of your games will be with mentally unstable self-delusional sadistic trolls - unless you have a 5 man team or enjoy playing against bots, avoid the Public matches - you will spend most of your time wondering how so many rotten humans could be joint together in one place; "Delusional disorder is a psychiatric condition in which the patients present with delusions, but with no accompanying prominent hallucinations, thought disorder, mood disorder, or significant flattening of affect. Delusions are a specific symptom of psychosis. Delusions can be bizarre or non-bizarre in content."

This is a good game..i mean its a amazing game. It requires strategies patience and strong teamwork to win a single battle, which is the reason i keep playing this game.
***But!!!***
This game you have to play online which means it requires you to play with someone else. Its even more interesting; however, many players that I have to say that they are mentally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and it TOTALLY destroy this game! Imagine what your feeling when u try hard carry this team and one of ur teammates intentionally feed the enemy just for a dumb reason? Or you try to rank up to get higher mmr but your teammates afk and stay at base? Sometime it even worse, they not only go feed themselves but feed your courier and wards. For ♥♥♥♥ sake I am really done on this! If Valve cannot fix the dumb players like I said, this game is zero fun to play and its completely waste your time.

You are born, one summer day to an angry abusive russian couple who live with two hella stoned spanish roomates. They try to teach you the basics, such as how to walk, but you cannot understand them. So, trial and error, you fall down, you get yelled at, you cry. But you always get back up. You keep trying, because learning to walk is so necessary. After 200 hours of trying, sometimes succeeding, most often failing, you understand the dynamics of your feet.

Now we learn to run. Optimizing our clumsy movements into something more refined, faster, better. Our feet callous, we feel less, we learn more. We meet other younglings, or are absolved into a seasoned tribe of fellow runners, with whom we can communicate our goals, our wishes, our preference in running shoes. Finding this tribe is very important, as your progress as a runner will be very slow on your own, with only angry russian parents to keep you company. You feel determined to improve, to be faster, better, more able to contribute. This could take anywhere from 50 to 300 hours.

When we fully understand our bodies, the methods and resources at our disposal, and are in sync with the world and community at large, it is time to learn to ride a bike. It is way less effort, way faster, a more streamlined approach to the same activity. Knowledge of routes and bike repairs becomes key. You now have an ability to comprehend the world around you in terms of optimal routing, and not merely in vague confusion. You can go to your favorite candy store out in the bushes to buy supplementary pieces for your bicycle. You have knowledge of the challenges you will face on the road. You know what makes you strong, and also what makes you weak. If you struggle on hills, you will train and tweak that. You will know that the journey is so much better when you're not riding alone. You will encourage your friends to keep up, you will no longer just blaze ahead.

Riding the Dota bicycle: From 400 hours to infinity. You will always improve. There is no skill ceiling. Progress is slow, and there are probably realistically much better things to do with your life (raising kids, developing actual skills, etc)
With that being said, would I recommend it? Yes. Do I regret all the time I put into it? Yes. Is this review and redundant string of self questioning wearing out it's welcome? Yes.
So go ahead. Say Yes to DOTA 2.
