What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Because we want you to help us mold our game!
Learning what the people who are playing our games want is going to be a big part in making Necroball an amazing finished product. We want to involve our community early and use our collaborative imagination to shape and polish Necroball.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We hope no longer than a year. If Necroball is a huge success and we can dedicate ourselves to finishing it exclusively, it could be far less than that.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We want to add 3 more maps, 2 more characters, new character abilities, hopeful character cross-overs from other games, each character's signature Ultimate Moves, a PvE survival mode, and finely-tuned game mechanics that have been polished to perfection.

We are really excited about Survival Mode. Players will get to defend against waves of enemies alongside their friends in the Necroball arena. We think that would be awesome and see this as a primary feature we want to have in place before full release.

We also would like to implement a ladder system to keep track of each player's skill and pair them up with appropriately skilled opponents.

Additionally, we want to listen to you and find out what you think should be added to the game and fixed/polished before we release the full version.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Alpha+. The core mechanics we want to have in the game are there (minus Survival mode) and we want to begin sculpting it into a final product that is worthy of your time and appreciation. Please help us dedicate ourselves entirely to Necroball by purchasing a copy in Early Access!

Currently, there are 4 characters to choose from: The Necrocorgi, Brunhilde the Lich, Zuzu the Demonologist, and Crazy Jack. Each character has their own abilities and upgrades to unlock by completing Necroball matches.

We have one small graveyard map intended for 1v1 play, and we are working on a large graveyard map intended for 2v2 play.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features. Purchasing the game during Early Access benefits you because it will help us when we need it most and you get it when it is the cheapest!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve our community every step of the way. If we implement a new character or ability, starting a forum post about it and learning what everyone thinks are the greatest parts of that new character will be one of the ways we involve our community.”

Update 1.2 - Multiplayer Bugs & Minion Balance

Hello Everybody!

We put out a patch earlier this week and have been testing it's efficiency with great success! There was a lot of work done around fixing some Necroball multiplayer authority issues involving who owns the Necroball after collision between the host and client.

While the desync happens much less often than it used to, it might still occur and if you see it please send us a bug report to or leave a post on our community forum here!

Keep sending us bug reports and let us know what you think about Necroball by leaving a review!

- Player names should now always show up in multiplayer matches
- Version difference stops the client from joining a match and gives an error message.
- Shadows no longer spawn in the middle of the screen for the client.
- Brunhilde can correctly shoot over ice wall if playing as the client.
- Changed mouse mechanic - now all mouse movement affects reticle
- Removed Unity Splash Screen
- Latency indicator added to in-game portraits
- Added mouse sensitivity slider to options
- Mouse sensitivity and outlines on/off now set by player rather than by match
- Jack's Lightning Rod now correctly affects players.
- Necrocorgi charge-up ability increases minion spawns much more and increases minion speed
- Horde power-up removed from Survival Mode
- Friendly minions removed from Survival Mode
- Ultimate minions and Big Shadow minions have had their HP reduced
- Some crash bugs have been solved
- De-sync issue with the Necroball in multiplayer matches improved

Thanks for playing!

Update 1.1 - Survival Mode Added! 1/17/17

Hello Everybody!

Today we added in Survival Mode for Necroball!

You'll face several waves of enemy minions while you try to keep them out of your goal and survive until the end!

All you have to do is start a game with just one player in the lobby, or everyone on the same team if you want to do co-op, and you'll activate Survival Mode and choose your enemy horde to face.

Please let us know what you think about the new Survival Mode and we'll continue modifying and polishing the existing mechanics in the game.

Speaking of modifying and polishing mechanics, here is our first list of patch notes!

- Survival Mode added! Play alone or with friends against hordes of enemy minions!
- Zuzu's summoning circle ability no longer allows you, or the Necroball, to jump out of bounds.
- If another player leaves the lobby while the other players are "Ready" it no longer forces the "Ready" players to back out and rejoin.
- Error message now appears when you are disconnected from a multiplayer game due to latency.
- Levels should update automatically when you go back to the lobby, instead of having to exit and recreate the lobby to see the changes. (This bug seems to have spawned some other smaller level tracking bugs we are working on)
- You can now select Yes or No with the controller when trying to Quit Game.
- Game no longer uses the Unity icon when playing.
- Added in Windowed Mode option to Options > Graphic Settings.
- You can now scroll between characters while looking at their character info in the lobby.
- There is now a Controls Screen option in the Options menu.
- Changed flashing text in the lobby from "Press Start or A to Join" to "Press Start or Enter to Join"

Thanks for playing!
