Why Early Access?

“We want to use Early Access as a way to actively collect the community feedback while we continue to improve and include new features (weapons, sandbox interactions, game modes, islands...). As a small team (3 men army), we need your help to make it happen!”

“We think that we will need a few months to release the final version of the game with the community suggested enhancements and additional features.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Thanks to the community feedbacks we are planning to add at least 2 main islands / activities. We also want to enhance the environment, add some details to improve player immersion / interaction.

Roadmap

  • Add new game modes for existing activities
  • Add at least 2 new activity zones / islands
  • Add new weapons to play with (Crossbow, Kunai, Boomerang and other original weapons like a magic chakram thrower for instance)
  • Fix shadows (due to Unity 5.X mixed mode lighting, we need to wait for the 5.6 version to have clean blended shadows between dynamic and static ones)
  • Improve the environment, bring more life to it (lighting, particles, wildlife)
  • Enhance player experience by adding more interactions with the environment (Robot behaviour, interactable objects, easter eggs...)
  • Implement a reward system based on leaderboard results with competitive seasons

“The game already offers an enjoyable environment, different activities, a sandbox zone, tutorials and a good challenge to players.

The current build of Sky Sanctuary has been developed and tested on the HTC Vive minimal config. We are always working with optimization and debug in mind so we can ship the cleanest builds we can. Occasional bugs and crashes might get in your way, but we need your feedbacks to slice them all quickly.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price won't change during the early access. As we are planning to significantly add content and reward our first adopters, the price will be increased at release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to collect user feedbacks and recommendations to include as much enhancement as we can to the final game. A sandbox place with training weapons will be present in the game. Players will be able to give us their feedbacks on their favorite weapons to create new game modes.
Our goal is to deliver the most enjoyable game we can make by listening to our community.”

Patch notes v0.4.0: Gold and Shadows



General
  • Unity has been updated to version 5.6. No more weird blue shadows! The power of shadowmasks.
  • Many third party plugins have been updated.
  • Sounds are now integrated with Wwise.
  • General rework of the sound engine.
  • New text engine (TextMesh Pro).
  • Reworked materials and geometry on many meshes.
  • Cutting engine now works with two or more swords to cut the same object with a coherent behavior. New content patch incoming!
Content
  • Players can now compete to be celebrated on whole new monuments for kyudo and tameshigiri modes.
  • Kyudo Skeet mode has been reworked. Enjoy the golden hense!
  • You can now train on skeets and sliceable projectiles in the beginner zone.
Bug fixes and optimizations
  • Drawcalls have been reduced by more than half: 30+fps gain on weakest setups.
  • Game should not be tanked anymore when you quit.
  • Henses are no more deactivated when colliding with a projectile that doesn’t get stuck in it.
  • Holographic shader should now work as expected (no more incoherent artifacts and SPSR fixed).
  • Minimum sword cutting volume is now adjusted to the real mesh volume instead of the bounding box volume.
  • Vegetation imposters are now batched together.

As the Skeet mode has completly evolved, we have reset the Skeet and Triathlon leaderboards. Sorry folks, but you'll have to compete again to be worthy of the new Altars highlights

About This Game



Have you ever wanted to be a samurai? On this beautiful archipelago high in the clouds, you can make your dreams come true.

You will follow the instructions of Delios-Sensei, your only friend out there. He will teach you how to progress in the warrior's way and explore the secrets of Zen.
Archery, Katana moves, throwing arts and many other practices await you. And if you need rest, take a stroll around the islands to enjoy panoramas in front of a beautiful sunset.

With fair scoring mechanics, and arcade style gameplay, it's a perfect game to have fun in your house parties.

Sky Sanctuary is not a limited experience, there is fun beyond game modes. Test weapons, multiple interactions are directly designed to let you play the way you want without any rules. This is the good thing about VR.

General notice

Sky Sanctuary is not meant to be played seated. Expect from this game to be physically engaged. You'll have to reproduce real moves from sport activities like archery or martial arts. As you'll have to move your body a lot, especially your arms, make sure that you have a clear play space (minimum 2m x 1.5m). Stay far enough from your screen and your friends. It would be sad to hurt anyone :).
And like in a real physical activity: don't forget to breath and take a break! (and drink gallons of water dammit!)
