What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“There are more modes, levels and mechanics we’ll be adding to the game. However we are at a point that we need the people's opinion on what we should do first. Please check the forums and share your thoughts on what we should implement next.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate that it will not be for more than 3 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan on adding at least 20 more levels, and a single player "Challenge" mode. We are also hoping to add more voice acting and improve the current voice overs, even localise some if that is possible. The UI will also be translated in a few different languages. Last but not least we are doing our best to add online multiplayer support.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now you can play with 2 to 4 players on Free for all or Team battle mode, in 60 unique levels with 8 different characters.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We will probably raise the final price slightly given that the final product will have twice as much content or more.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We really want to see what you think is more promising in the game and focus on that. Talk to us, show us what you do or don’t like and we will fix it.”

Update v Fixes and stuff.

Hello people, it's been a while. Happy new year!

So what happened in the last months. We tried making Moribund Online. Aaaand it didn't work. There's several reason's we can't make Moribund online with our resources. That's why we have been looking around for a publisher. We prefer having a good local multiplayer game than online bad one.

We will be also attending the Indie Prize Showcase at Berlin 5 - 7 Feb. If you are in the showcase come by our table and try beating us (You got NO chance).

Now regarding the update here's what's included.

- Redesigned all the characters in the battle so they are more distinct from one another and from the background.
- Bug fixes and optimization.
- Some aesthetical improvements on all the levels.
- Crouching now forbids the player from jumping.

As you can see the price went up to 9.99! Yay! As we had mentioned when the Early Access came live this was scheduled. Within the next month or so the game will reach all the promised features (80 levels, 1 more mode) and there will also be some single player features.

If you got any feedback for us now is the time to tell us!

Thank you all!

About This Game

You are 4 friends. On a couch. You have 4 controllers. All you need is a post-apocalyptic excuse to duke it out. Only you never thought you’d love a fungi spewing gun that always leads to the same end result: glorious dismemberment. Moribund is a local multiplayer game that takes place in a post apocalyptic world where a highly aggressive fungus strain has devoured most of the life. The gameplay is fast paced and has an "easy to learn, hard to master" approach. Two to four players can play simultaneously.

Each player has a gun with two firing modes. The first mode is used to immobilize the enemy. While the enemy is immobilized, you can charge you harpoon (your second firing mode) and shoot it against the helpless enemy. If he hasn't escaped then his gory, splattery death is guaranteed. Simple right? But when you add 4 players, a couple of hazards and power ups in the mix everything becomes much more exciting.

  • Two game modes (Free for all and Team battle)
  • Eight unique characters split among 4 factions
  • A wide variety of levels (60 levels split over 6 settings, each with its own graphical enviroment, mechanics, and music tracks)
  • Several stage mechanics promising unique and hilarious deaths
  • Fully voiced over insults and taunts
  • The glorious rag doll. The pillar of the game allowing ever-unique dismemberments and deaths

This is a game that is designed to be played with friends. Four is the magic number. You should also have enough controllers for everyone (As far as we know any kind of controller should work fine) but in case of need you can have up to two players on a keyboard (highly unrecommended). And the game works best on a 1920 x 1080 display. Right now there are a few options available but more will be added soon.

ATTENTION: First of all CHECK THE CONTROLS BEFORE PLAYING. This is an Early Access game (duh) which means it doesn't reflect the quality of the final product. If you have a problem please do share it with us. We will do our best to resolve it. If we can't solve it then we ourselves will urge you to ask for a refund.
