About This Game

In an open sand box world you choose your allies, your enemies, what provinces to conquer, what castles to siege and what quests to embark on. With Fire & Sword builds and expands upon the highly regarded combat system from Mount & Blade: Warband. Firearms have been introduced to the battlefield. Additionally, muskets and pistols can now be used as sidearms in hand-to-hand combat to quickly drop your foes. In addition to the enhanced singleplayer mode, With Fire & Sword also provides a host of original multiplayer content including the new game mode: Captain.

Key Features:

  • A storyline based on the cult novel, "With Fire and Sword", from Nobel-prize winning author Henry Sienkiewicz.
  • A new century of warfare that brings pistols, muskets, grenades, and other advanced weaponry to the battlefield.
  • Fully customizable armies; players can outfit their soldiers with each piece of weaponry & armor.
  • Additional quest types. More political intrigue with colorful factions. More adventure in a new land.
  • Multiple endings to increase re-playability.
  • Deeply researched historical component encompassing every aspect of the game's assets.
  • Ferocious new multiplayer action, bringing players the thrill of pitting old technology against the looming threat of firearms.
  • 3 Main Story-driven quest-lines for the player to delve into once they've become known in a particular faction.
  • Additional quest types.
  • Implementation of firearms, adds a whole new layer of strategic depth to the franchise's proven combat model.
  • New Siege options to choose before besieging a town or castle.

Gosh, I will start this review with one sentence...no, better, one INQUISITION, YOU, YES, YOU, you there sitting on this chair, YOU. WILL. BUY. THIS, GAME. this game it's just...man...it's just the game, I mean it's warband, but with way improved well..."diplomacy" I guess I can put it in this way, and some handy options, as for example you can speak with the elder of a village just clicking with one button, instead of doing all that work to do so as in warband, I mean, don't get me wrong, Warband it's a damn awesome game and i'm not trying to say which is better, but this game as I have said is almost the same as warband...Oh and of course RIFLES and BOMBS

So good! Watered-down crap graphics but the gameplay and combat is incredible! Sword fighting comparable to Dark Souls. You have the ability to have 500+ AI controlled soldiers in your army you build and train, you can give them commands and make them group up into formations! Very strategy based and with the introduction to Firearms it creates infititely more strategy decisions! 8.9/10.

It is a very good expansion to the Mount & Blade series! Although the Napoleonic Wars DLC trumps this one in popularity, it is still worth the money to buy this DLC.

The Multiplayer has very few players (One or two active servers with a few dozen people) and in my opinion is ok compared to Native M&B Warband. However, there is no focus on ranged over hand-to-hand combat as both are used no matter your preference. There's archery, musketry, swords, shields, spears, crossbows, etc., etc.

The part I really like is the Singleplayer campaign, despite it being similar to the other DLCs. I just have a liking to this one in particular over the others for some reason, probably the guns (Since Mount & Blade Vanilla and Native Mount & Blade Warband don't have guns :D)

My rating, With Fire & Sword of course! :P

I want to like this game, I really do. But the combat feels so... Unfair, and short. Having played Warband for many hours, this game just didn't feel the same, and mods reflect a general dislike of this game. Something about it makes it feel shorter, and clunkier. This is a game that in my eyes just didn't live up to my expectations. If you want a more balanced combat system, with each class having advantages and disadvantages, then go to Mount and Blade Warband. If you want quick, ranged battles with the battles being dominated primarily by musketmen, then this is the game. If you want a gunpowder multiplayer experience, Mount and Blade Napoleon.

An almost direct copy of Mount & Blade: Warband with a number of features removed... thats about all this game is to be honest, meaning that while a fairly good game in its own right the previous instalment is simply better.

Warband is much better. The main questline for certain factions (mainly Muscovite and Polish ) are so glitchy that you have to save every little step you take or else you risk having a gamebreaking glitch where you can't progress. Also you can't make your own faction, only rebel against a current faction.

very fun game, 1st person hack and slash with pinch of strategy, i loev the whole series but with fire and sword has alot of bugs that also sometimes come up with the most important characters/aspects of the game.

I honestly do not know why so many people seem to like this game. Graphics could be from 10 years ago, sound is awful, controls are unintuitive and clumsy, NPC's just stand around like statues waiting for some interaction. Quite simply it is a bad game. I only spent £7.99 on this thankfully but to be honest 99p would have been too much.

Pretty similar to Warband, and still good, and the graphics are a very small amount better. However, I can't seem to get in to it as much as I do Warband..I would say just play Warband, its better than this one, with ♥♥♥♥ tons of mods that can mostly emulate what this game has. I honestly wouldnt buy this game, if you have the money for Warband. If you have the 20$ (or only like 3ish dollars on sale) Buy Warband, It's an excellent game. But this one is still ok, its basically the same concept as Warband, but for some reason I just can't get in to it like I can Warband.
