About This Game

In an open sand box world you choose your allies, your enemies, what provinces to conquer, what castles to siege and what quests to embark on. With Fire & Sword builds and expands upon the highly regarded combat system from Mount & Blade: Warband. Firearms have been introduced to the battlefield. Additionally, muskets and pistols can now be used as sidearms in hand-to-hand combat to quickly drop your foes. In addition to the enhanced singleplayer mode, With Fire & Sword also provides a host of original multiplayer content including the new game mode: Captain.

Key Features:

  • A storyline based on the cult novel, "With Fire and Sword", from Nobel-prize winning author Henry Sienkiewicz.
  • A new century of warfare that brings pistols, muskets, grenades, and other advanced weaponry to the battlefield.
  • Fully customizable armies; players can outfit their soldiers with each piece of weaponry & armor.
  • Additional quest types. More political intrigue with colorful factions. More adventure in a new land.
  • Multiple endings to increase re-playability.
  • Deeply researched historical component encompassing every aspect of the game's assets.
  • Ferocious new multiplayer action, bringing players the thrill of pitting old technology against the looming threat of firearms.
  • 3 Main Story-driven quest-lines for the player to delve into once they've become known in a particular faction.
  • Additional quest types.

Horribly bugged unfortunately. Unlike other negative reviews i did not dislike this game, perhaps Warband was better but i still enjoyed With Fire and Sword, the constant graphical errors became too much though.

Pretty good mod for Warband. Only real shortcoming is the lack of ability to start your own faction.

This is one of the best games I've ever played. The very first time I played was around 2 yeara after it was released, at the time I played the demo just to check if it's worth it. The demo was almost nothing and you didn't have too much time to play but I did buy it because I wanted to see what I could do next.

I've played this game for a long while, about 6 years now, when I started really enjoying it. It is an old game, yes, but it's worth every dollar I spent on it. This game might not be the most epic game in the world but it's still fun to just go around, completing missions, getting an army and getting to rule land. The game has multiplayer as well, which makes it even more fun. Sadly not a lot of people play Fire&Sword.

I don't have too much to say about this game. It's just really fun and I'm sure some will really get into it. I've never seen any bugs and glitches in this game. This game runs smoothly with nothing bad happening, though it might crash rarely, but it's no problem if you save your game from time to time.

My first impression:

Worth the price of admission, just to roleplay as one of my ancestors and learn some of their history. Plus it's a Mount & Blade game!

My second impression:

Warband is better, for a few reasons. Warband has better troop diversity among the factions and more interesting upgrade trees for troops. In Fire and Sword, I think they did a good job making combat different from Warband with the addition of guns since they do sooo much damage. You're forcedd to modify your battlefield tactics to take advantage of them. However, with guns, armor and melee feel less important. This means all the different factions' units feel like identical reskins of each other. Everyone seems to have sharpshooters, cavalry, and pikemen. Plus, you can just hire a relatively inexpensive mercenary army of sharpshooters, cavalry, and pikemen instead of raising your own troops. It's still interesting, but different.

Bought out like 90 mercenaries.

Murdered men, made women my prisoners.

Burnt it down.
Slaughtered families.

All my men died in a 230v120 fight. Only I survived, because I fought and killed the enemy.

First of all I would recommend this game for anyone who likes sandbox games ( for the single player mode ). One reason this game is so unique is because it has a different style of musket fighting than in the other mount and blade mods. The game gives you a sense of individuality in multiplayer, in which there is no sandbox you just battle with other people. In the other mount and blade mods and other games like those, you fight in groups so you are more of a body of men than a single soldier. In the multiplayer almost everyone moves at their own free will, like an irregular. So being a musketeer means more of you by yourself than you in a battalion of infantry. But it also allows other things, imagine a knight with a gun. This game is very fun but the multiplayer takes a while to master especially since there are a lot of hackers on some of the servers so PRACTICE!!! But other than that this game is very wide spread so it covers a lot of fields so this game is definitely one of my favorites.
