About This Game

In an open sand box world you choose your allies, your enemies, what provinces to conquer, what castles to siege and what quests to embark on. With Fire & Sword builds and expands upon the highly regarded combat system from Mount & Blade: Warband. Firearms have been introduced to the battlefield. Additionally, muskets and pistols can now be used as sidearms in hand-to-hand combat to quickly drop your foes. In addition to the enhanced singleplayer mode, With Fire & Sword also provides a host of original multiplayer content including the new game mode: Captain.

Key Features:

  • A storyline based on the cult novel, "With Fire and Sword", from Nobel-prize winning author Henry Sienkiewicz.
  • A new century of warfare that brings pistols, muskets, grenades, and other advanced weaponry to the battlefield.
  • Fully customizable armies; players can outfit their soldiers with each piece of weaponry & armor.
  • Additional quest types. More political intrigue with colorful factions. More adventure in a new land.
  • Multiple endings to increase re-playability.
  • Deeply researched historical component encompassing every aspect of the game's assets.
  • Ferocious new multiplayer action, bringing players the thrill of pitting old technology against the looming threat of firearms.
  • 3 Main Story-driven quest-lines for the player to delve into once they've become known in a particular faction.
  • Additional quest types.
  • Implementation of firearms, adds a whole new layer of strategic depth to the franchise's proven combat model.

This is a very nice and a heck of an addictive game! It is very much like Warband, but with a few major differences: firearms - drastically changes the combat; grenades - probably the most fun part of the game; realistic world map and city names - makes it a lot easier for the player to connect to the in-game world. But the most important thing for me is that I can hire an army of my ancestors - the Kalmyks.

♥♥♥♥ you King Carl! I work my ♥♥♥ off and capture like 5 castles on my own even defend it from people trying to take it back while you sit on your ♥♥♥ and do nothing and you still won't give me a single ♥♥♥♥ing town, castle, or even a village. You give it to some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ who has an army of 60 guys and can't even take care of a ♥♥♥♥ing village let alone a whole ♥♥♥♥ing town town! You guys would be getting mashed into the ground if it wasn't for me, I'm this close from turning cheats on, becoming a rebel and making every castle I deserve mine! I swear to christ if you give another fief to that ♥♥♥♥ing ♥♥♥♥ cunt ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of ♥♥♥♥ Arid Vittenburg or whatever that ♥♥♥♥ing ♥♥♥♥'s name is when I become marshall I'll let someone take your castle and force you to raid your own village!

It's a great game but the king is always a giant prick and he won't give me land which makes me madder than it really should because I don't even care about the money it gives me.

The king of Sweden granted me a village as a fief.

Once, the villagers didn't pay their rent.

The game allowed me to loot and burn my own village... 10/10

I have over 600 hours in warband. I played this, it made me realize something.

My Slavic ancestors fought and died in these wars.
They fought and died so that I could yell,
"lern to melee ♥♥♥ n00bs!"

Sorry ancestors.

While not being as good as the main series, WFaS does feature something akin to a story quest experience for three of the major factions, which was a novelty upon release and as of yet, still is. If you like musket warfare and didn't particularly like napoleonic warfare due to too much ranged combat, this might definitely for you, bringing a good mix and a extremely large variety of units.

Unless your computer is extremely dated and cannot deal with newer games, this game is not what you're looking for. M&B had its time but the devs inability to move to a newer engine and more advanced AI has left this game in the dust of other, more advanced games I won't mention. It is still an "oldie" I will pull from my uninstalled list every once in a while but it will not ever stay intalled.
