Many days gone to this game. Modding is simple and plentiful, but vanilla is super fun in general. 11/10, would feast with Harlaus again.

This game is amazing! I love it! Get it!
Mount in Blade Warband is a game where you start as a lone adventurer, and build yourself up to a king, if you want. There so many ways to play the game! You can make friends with a king and fight for him, you can make enemies with everyone, you can build an army of hundreds of soldiers, you can even make your own war clan! It has workshop support, so you can get custom scenarios and maps, you get armor and weapons from each enemy you defeat, but, if you make the wrong move, you can be taken prisoner, and stripped of all your weapons and riches. Swordplay is amazing, and extremely satisfying! Bows and crossbows feel realistic, they have drop and become unsteady and innacurate if you draw them for too long. This game also runs very well! I use a lower end laptop (1gb gpu clocked at about 800MHz, 12gb ram, average AMD cpu) and it never goes below 30, which is great for me. This game is amazing and if you dont get it, your missing out on a masterpiece. Its worth the money, even when its not on sale.

Review of the singleplayer campaign (not interested in multiplayer):

I have to say, I am honestly surprised. In a good way. The Black Ops 3 campaign is way longer than what we are used to in this franchise. I think it took me about 12 hours, which is a good length for a shooter, even by normal standards - but especially compared to other Call of Duty games.

The story was pretty boring in the beginning. But it got better and better, to the point where I was honestly interested in how it all would play out. The acting was pretty good (real actors, digitalized). And the ending - well, the ending was great. It left me sitting in front of my monitor and wondering what the hell just happened. I ended up reading explanations and theories about the story for another 20 minutes. It is a surprisingly complex story for this kind of action game. Not quite on the same level as Bioshock Infinite or To the Moon, but way above your usual CoD story. I have to say, I really liked it (despite the boring start).

The gameplay is CoD standard. Nothing special here. You have some abilities to unlock and upgrade. But I rarely used them. You have a wall-run, but only a few opportunities to use it in the levels. It felt unnecessary. And that was a shame, because it's a cool mechanic and should have been integrated better in the level design. Most of your enemies are the typical noname soldiers. There are also certain types of mechs. Some are soldier-like, and a few bigger ones, which require the use of a rocket launcher. So there is some variety here, but in the end it is typical CoD shooter gameplay. Which is not brilliant, but alright.

The graphics are ok. The game looks quite good sometimes, but overall dated. They really make the most out of the old engine. But the game cannot compete with modern titles like Battlefront or Witcher 3.

If you want a number - I guess I would give it a 7.5/10 for the campaign. And it could have been more, had they improved the gameplay a little more. I really didn't think it would be that good.

My first day of life, just escaped capture from sea raiders; fled to nearby village, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off. Game asks if I'd like to take a hostile action. Sure, man. Let's get violent. "The villagers band together to defend themselves." No big deal; bunch a peasants can't stand against me.

I was wrong.

>Be me, faithful vassal of the Kingdom of Rhodoks, lord of Saren
>Spend years and thousands of Denars raising and maintaining an army
>War is declared against the Vaegars
>Head north, alone, as no other lord is willing to help me
>Find castle with a garrison slightly smaller than my total army size
>Siege castle
>I watch my men, who I have known for years die before me
>I fall in battle, but am dragged back by a few wounded and bloodied veterans
>Only 14 of my men survive, whilst 7 of the enemy survive
>Order siege ladders to be built one last time, hoping to safe my captured men and take the castle
>4 hours to build
>3 hours to build
>2 hours to build
>A band of 30 sea raiders comes and attacks me, killing all my men and taking me prisoner
10/10, would alt+f4 again

Hey you! Yes you!

-Have you ever dreamt of world domination with hordes of crazy asian horsemen?
-Tired of all those multiplayer games where veterens always have the highest teir equipment?
-Enjoy getting beaten senseless by various groups of men yelling "I will drink from your skull!"?

Then Mount & Blade: Warband is the game for you!

Hop into a world where you will forget you have a life. A multiplayer where veteren players charge at you half naked with deformed faces. Emmersive and brutal singleplayer campaigns as you rise from rags to riches, constantly being reminded its almost harvesting season.

Worth every penny, pound, peso, and denar. Two great DLCS: Fir- I mean- Napoleonic Wars and Viking Conquest along with tons of random mods. Buy it now and then be ready to do it agian in Bannerlords!

(This has been a meesage from the Calradian Farmers Association- "It's almost Harvesting Season!")

M&B: Warband is a great game. I remember playing the first M&B and falling in love. I was invested in my army more than I ever was in any other army in any other game. When I talk about this game, I always mention that one time when one of my elite bodyguards beautifully saved my life during a siege, but then when I turned to him to say thank you, an arrow pierced his head ... it was dramatic and I loved it! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=440357386 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=731820796 Unlocked all achievements!

How it went
- Bought game and 10:15 AM
- Played for a while, was thouroughly impressed
- I wake up from what seems like a dream at 4 AM the next morning
- Still made hardly any progress

Legitimately one of, if not the best games on Steam

14/10, would play again, and have, for ~220 more hours.

Mount & Blade: Warband is an incredibly addicting and absorbing medieval game. There's no set path or goal except for that which you make yourself, allowing one to advance through the game perpetually hunting and killing bandits as the head of a ruthless body of sellswords, or to start your own nation and proceed to announce war on everyone because you see it fit. The combat is exciting to partake in, notably when you get to larger battles with more units on the ground. In my opinion it's worth the full price.

ps if you go into a tournament and get a jousting stage, keep calm and realize that this might take a long time
